Clinique Almost Lipstick Tinted Lip Balm in 3 Iconic Shades Black Honey, Pink, and Nude Honey | Sheer + Lightweight

Legend has it, there have been 7 tubes of Black Honey sold everyday for the last 20 years. I bought the 8th tube. I understand the draw! I've worn it exclusively for 2 days on my 64 year old lips and it is great! It is very sheer, hydrating and has a satin sheen. It's a perfect neutral shade that will match almost everyone from alabaster pale to deep latte tan. As a sheer tint, it doesn't hold up if you eat or drink, but does stay soft & satiny for over 6 hours. It DOES NOT dry your lips! Is it worth $25 per tube? Since it can go from work, to after work and dinner later, reducing those 4 lipsticks you carry down to 1 slim tube....yes, it's worth the price. I will be buying more!

This formula, color payoff, and longevity is perfect! I’ve always been more of a lipgloss girl but I wanted something more long lasting as I started my first office job. I layer this on top of a lip stain and it provides a perfect smooth, glossy finish, and feels as moisturizing as a lip balm. The smoothness lasts for most of my work day, with minimal reapplication needed, and my lips keep their wash of light pink. Highly recommend, this product is now part of my everyday routine!

I used to wear Clinique’s Moisture Surge Pop Triple Lip Balm in a few different shades (bring them back please!), so I was sad to see them go. But I had seen their Almost Lipstick Tinted Lip Balm for a while now but finally caught it on sale so I figured I’d give it a try. The tube itself is longer and thinner than its predecessor, which is nice for fitting in my purse’s makeup bag. The product applies easily on my lips, there’s no sticky feeling after, and I can feel the hydration (not quite as hydrating as the Triple Lip Balm IMO). The shade I chose was pink honey, and it does leave a slight pink hue to my lips which is pretty. It’s definitely nothing drastic, which is exactly what I was expecting. I do like this Almost Lipstick Tinted Lip Balm, but I miss the OG. I know times change and products get updated, but maybe Clinique will bring them back for a time as a limited edition. I have a few OGs left at home (2 unopened and 2 used almost gone) that I don’t want to touch because I’m worried I’ll never be able to replace them again. Regardless, I’ll be purchasing the other two shades of this current product just because I like the hydration and subtle color they give. Black honey is next on my list!

I have strawberry blonde hair, green eyes, and a warm complexion. Most lipsticks look clownish on me, but as I age my lips tend to be dry and pale. I bought the new Nude Honey and it was PERFECT. My lips look moist but not glossy and they have a very natural look of color that you wouldn’t call lipstick but brightens my face. At $25 it is a bit expensive, but cheaper than buying a lot of lipsticks I may wear once then throw away because the shade is all wrong. I don’t notice a fragrance or taste. This will become my “go to” daily wear. Now, I think I’ll try Black Honey for dressier affairs when I want more color in the evening. Buy this, girls. It’s everything it says it is.

Ok, so after seeing all of the hype around the Clinique Black Honey and how it would look good on any skin tone I decided to finally purchase it. On the color/look: I'm the type of person who almost never wears makeup, aside from an occasional lippie. Normally lip colors look far too bold to wear without any other makeup; though this shade Black Honey is great with or without other makeup! It has a nice sheer look upon first application and is buildable to enhance and bolden the color if desired. Really feels like a "your lips but better" look. On the smell: So, it is stated in the description that it has no fragrance. I think this is important to mention as I dont see too many other reviews on the smell. Immediately upon application I was surprised at it strangely smelling like CRAYONS. I'm not sure why but it smells a bit of like old or cheap drugstore lipstick? Or like the cheap lipstick you get in little kid makeup kits. Like a waxy crayon smell, which stays throughout the whole time of wear. It's luckily not super strong of a smell, though it's definitely a bit off-putting to me. On the application: Glides on quite smoothly, as stated before it starts off somewhat sheer and is buildable for more full coverage. Although it starts off sheer it definitely has nice pigmentation immediately. On the feel: Although advertised as a "moisturizing lip balm," to me personally yes, it feels smooth, but not moisturizing such as something like a chapstick. It feels light, though I can still feel it on top of my lips; sitting on top rather than settling into them. When rubbing my lips together the lip balm starts to feel a bit gritty. Though even with that slight gritty feeling, the color still looks good and undisturbed, not blotchy. It does not feel sticky at all, which is great! Though obviously if you're somewhere windy and you hair flies into your face, your hair will stick to the lip balm. On the value for money: Overall at $25 I think the value for money is decent, though I feel it should be a bit cheaper; Although the color is great, it truly to me feels kindof more like a drugstore product. As such I feel its a bit on the pricey side, also considering how in my opinion there is a lot nicer feeling products at this price point. HOWEVER, you do get a great amount of product, which for me should last a very long time even with frequent wear. So if you do like the product/color I believe that it is worth at least the one time purchase! Overall, I would recommend anyone interested in the Clinique Black Honey to at least give it a one time purchase to try it out! 7.5/10 ★

I wish I would have bought this earlier! I love this lipstick. I have sensitive skin and most lipsticks give me a rash, but this one doesn’t. The color is beautiful! And as a tired mom of 3 littles, this lipstick makes me look more put together in an instant. This is a forever keeper for me.

Very nice tinted lip balm. Goes on smoothly, doesn't dry lips as many products do. The black honey color is really a nice subtle tint- true to the samples shown. Over the years most tints & shades have inevitably turned darker than advertised. So this has been a very unexpected and pleasant surprise. Highly recommend

I had this before a number of years ago and remembered liking it, and now with all the hype and Prime Day discount decided to revisit it, and it's still great! It adds a nice tint of berry color to my lips. It offers a subtle enhancement, but is not overly colorful. While not having a real fragrance (being intentionally fragrance free) there is a tiny tiny bit of taste, from whatever ingredients. It is a bit of shine, a bit of tint and in a flattering shade. It is not especially long lasting, and I do find I prefer to add a second coat so I don't think it will last terribly long, but overall, I still like it.

I was expecting more. The product has a unpleasant taste and the color accumulates in the lip lines. It's not even hydrating.
