Not the Same As I Remember
Mostly consisted of electronic noise. Could hardly detect a melody anywhere. A throwaway recording for $$$.

Courageous and Virtuosic
Saying that Pat Metheny is a musical genius and that I love all his work, is like saying the ocean is damp. Pat Metheny Group Quartet is certainly in the top 10 of his recordings for me. Each cut is unique, emotion-filled and courageous. What I love about him is not only his virtuosity on the instrument, but his courage to continually broaden his own musical horizons. Miles Davis, James Brown are two other names that were unafraid to explore in their composition and collaboration. I believe Metheny will go down in musical history with the same importance to the art and influence to those who came after him. He has collaborated with SO MANY artists, just do a discography search and you will be amazed. The only problem the world will ever have is to decide EXACTLY what musical genre in which to place Metheny.

One of the Few Metheny CDs I Would Not Recommend
This is probably one of Pat's more disappointing CDs...just not sure what he and the group were trying to accomplish with this set of recordings, but, it feels like a collection of atonal, intentionally asymmetrical songs. Huge fan of Pat Metheny but this just didn't do it for me.

Slightly disappointing
The production and recording are very good, instruments sound clear, clean and with good separation. However, this album does not really grab you as much as other PMG releases and there doesn't seem to be any stand out track. It's as though the band are just going through the motions. I was expecting more but hopefully it will grow on me a few further listens.

good solid album
good solid album but it's not as good as "Speaking Of Now" but definitely decent nonetheless. the musicianship throughout is flawless.

So weit, so schön.

The best
