Great for travel
Wanted a device that didn't have to be plugged into the car constantly and could be used inside too. This fit the bill. Was reasonably priced, had a battery and cord for the car or charging inside, and a remote. Was pretty straightforward to use and the instruction booklet had good, comprehensive directions. The remote could be a bit finicky needing just the right angle.Good graphics quality, it read my region 2 (Europe) DVDs,

Awesome for my First Portable DVD Player
I'm not into streaming services, at all. I literally had both my Netflix and hulu subscriptions cancelled this year because I had to get a new debit card and I didn't care about renewing my memberships. Not to mention that I barely used either service (especially hulu) because Youtube has become my replacement TV for the most part, but the thing is is that I'm been on Youtube way more than usual, these days and I want to take a break from it.Two good friends of mine got me into DVDs and Blu-rays a year ago and while I mainly use my PS3 to watch them, I wanted to have a device that at least, lets me play my DVDs anywhere in a nice form factor, so I bought this.I've had this thing for a few months to see how it fares and so far, I'm pretty happy with it. Playing DVDs and Music CDs on this little guy all work pretty well, although I haven't tested any discs from other regions nor have I tested all the other features that this thing has to offer yet.But aside from that, the device itself looks and feels like a solid piece of tech (and I love the color, but that's just me. ;)Anyway, the buttons on this device feel great and are easy to understand, the speakers on this thing impressed me with how loud they can get, and while I'm not into screen resolutions whatsoever, the screen on this thing looks pretty good, too.- Final ThoughtsOverall, I recommend getting this. To me, there's something special about devices like these and I'm glad that thereโs companies out there that actually care enough to still make these, even years later. It's nice to use this in bed and even in my car when I'm on break at work and looking to kill some time without relying on my phone and Youtube to do so.Obviously, this thing is bigger than a smartphone and bringing physical CDs anywhere is never going to be as convenient as everything just being digital on your phone, but for me personally, I don't care. The only major benefit of digital media IS convenience, but that doesn't mean that it's always going to be there when you need it, as I experienced that myself in the past with streaming services.- Edit: 12/30/2024I still like this thing, but in the few months that I've used it, I have experienced a few problems. There are times where the player doesn't want to play my DVDs whether it be not at all, or random cuts to the video will happen while playing, even though the discs are in pristine condition. When this happens, I have to stop the player, take the disc out, then put it back in and that usually solves the problem, but it's still weird and annoying to deal with when that problem comes up.Granted, I don't use this player 24/7 and I make sure to give this player a break (namely when watching a TV series, I'll turn it off after watching two to three episodes and I'll turn it off after watching one movie), but still.

So......
Have only used this for about a week or so, but it seems to be quite nice. I have gone through quite a few of these dvd players because I buy them for my special needs son, as he loves them for watching movies and listening to music. So it will get A LOT of daily use. I don't think, however, you really get a full 5 hours of playing time.... probably more like 4 or so. Hopefully this will last.

Love this for the price and works very well
I just got it and played a movie on it and so far I am in love with this. It has the connection to see it on a tv and you can also turn off the screen to see it only on a tv. Haven't tried the sound with the tv yet. The screen can move to both sides. I personally love how clear it looks and for a small device the audio sounds pretty good. I did show in my video review that it still plays even if I'm a bit rough with it. Tho I don't recommend turning it upside while on as it might damage some fragile stuff but other than that it's looks and works as intended. Will update if anything happens

Loud! & doesnโt take up much space
We got this to take on the plane for our kids. Itโs super loud and the picture was great! Itโs easy to use! Hoping it last a while since we go out of country 2 times a year!

Works for kids....and seniors.
Have a lot of DVD's and just wanted a small player for travel or to watch elsewhere in house. I'm a senior so it had to be tech easy and very basic to operate. This was labeled as "kid and travel friendly and a reasonable price. Turned out it's just what I needed. Fits my requirements of cost and use and travel.

Insanely bright and NOT adjustable!!
UPDATE: The customer service from this seller has been incredible. The seller has contacted me 3 times to offer a full refund, due to my 3 star review because of virtual inability to reduce brightness. I have decided to keep the player and will put window tint over the screen when I need a dimmer screen. Other than the brightness issue, it's a great player.....and customer service is the best. Because of the great customer service, I'm changing to 4 stars.I purchased this player along with 3 other comparable brands (price wise) and did a very strictly controlled test on battery life. They were all fully charged, settings were set exactly the same and I played dvds on all 3 devices, one after the other. This brand definitely had the longest battery life of the 3 players. NONE of them lasted what they each advertised, not even close. But, this one had the longest at about 3.5 hours. So, this is why I purchase this one.The sound is also great volume wise, whereas the other 2 models were barely loud enough, even turned all the way up. I tested the volume fairly by switching the dvds back and forth, in order to hear player with each dvd. This would have been 5 stars had the brightness been able to dim. I flew to Thailand 2 weeks ago and bought this dvd player just for the trip. Once the cabin lights were dimmed and people started napping, I started to play a movie on the player. It was HORRIBLY bright that the whole immediate area around me lit up like it was daytime. It even hurt my eyess because it was so bright!!! I quickly adjusted it to the very diameter and it was at this point that I discovered going from brightest to dimmest was NOT EVEN NOTICEABLE!! It was so terribly bright I turned it off because others would not have been able to sleep with it on. I even tried again several times on the return flight to play it but it was so terribly bright that it lit up the whole area around me and was not able to be dimmed enough to make any difference at all. This is absolutely ridiculous that such a simple feature cannot work any better than this.If you want to watch it in a fully lit room, it would be fine. But, in a dimmed room, it is ridiculously bright, nearly hurting your eyes and you won't be able to dim it, even the least little bit!

Handy long last playing portable DVD device
My 8 year-old son had been asking for the iGeek portable DVD player as a Christmas gift for the last three months. He got it in blue (as he wished) and couldnโt be any happier with this handy movie device. It was packaged carefully in a protective wrap. Right from the Boxing Day until the first weekend of January it has been his long distance travel companion. I was patiently waiting for him to give me his feedback. He loves the sharp screen imaging with the swivel feature, clear sound with or without the earphones, the play memory, about 5 hour playtime, and cosmetically - the color he chose. Showed it to all the visitors during his travels and all of them were in โaweโ. I do like the built in eye protecting screen filter since there is a lot of blue light coming out from a myriad of electronic devices in a daily use that can largely contribute to the eye retina damage. Very satisfied with the purchase and the seller so far. I can do the coffee chat with my friend and heโll enjoy the private movie matinee by a mug of hot chocolate.
