My new car did not come with a CD player and I have a lot of CD’s that I like to listen to while driving, not all of them music. But it does have plenty of USB ports! So I put all my favorites on flash drives and solved the car issue. I love the freedom from having to deal with CD’s and wanted the same freedom at home! I looked all over town for a device to play my flash drives. I couldn’t find anything. In fact, one salesperson told me I would NOT find anything like that and I just needed to play my flash drives on my computer! She was wrong! This speaker is exactly what I was looking for! It is portable, has great sound, plays my flash drives, and has the added benefit of Bluetooth! It charges up just like my cell phone does, so I don’t need to deal with finding an outlet to plug it in. I can use it in the house or outside on the patio. It is perfect!

The GOgroove does have a very good sound and I like the knob volume control (I only tried it on the USB input). BUT I bought it for the randomize feature and that has a problem. By holding the back button down for 2 seconds, the speaker does go into randomize/shuffle mode - orange light. After several songs go buy, the unit just quits playing and the buttons lock up - don't do anything. Turning the unit off, then on, corrects the problem temporarily. The hang up also occurs if I push forward and backward several times, then it will stop playing. I'm returning this and will see if another sample has the same problem. UPDATE: I knew the MP3 songs had to be placed on the root section of the USB, but I found out part of the problem was the USB sticks were formatted Fat16. They are supposed to be formatted Fat32.

I owned a previous version for quite a long time but found I didn't use it all that much mostly because I never felt like messing with the wires that model required. I thought I might try a newer bluetooth version and see if I used it more. The price was pretty reasonable after all. Pros: Sounds REALLY good for such a compact and portable speaker. Simulated wood grain finish looks really nice. Bluetooth and NFC pairing works well with my Galaxy Note 4. Cons: (not many) USES older out of date mini usb not micro usb most phones now use. (biggest issue by far for me) No SD card slot anymore. The great sound and nice looks really make this an excellent purchase despite the minor little things that bug me. My older model had a SD card slot in addition to the USB plug for playing files. Even though I NEVER used this I still felt a slight twinge of loss when I took it out of the box and first noticed that slot not cut out for use. The HUGE disappointment though was seeing the mini usb plug still there for charging. If they had updated this to micro usb this would have been five stars for sure. Everything else in my life all charges on micro usb. phones, tablets, whatever. The last thing I wanted was to have to keep track of one special cord for just this one device. I have several plugs in the car already, it would have been nice to not have to keep this speakers special mini usb cord with it all the time where ever I take it. Perhaps minor but still annoying. Bottom line though: Great sound from a small, inexpensive package that looks good and pairs up easy with bluetooth and NFC. Just keep special old style mini usb cable handy for charging once in a while and you'll be 4 stars worth of happy just like me. :)

This is my second cube speaker by gogroove. The last one lasted about 3 years of daily use. The USB port became loose and no longer powered. But I think 3 years is pretty good, especially for the price. This speaker sounds just as good as the older model. Tip out there for people experiencing buzzing or humming. If you don't have the battery in it will do this on the AUX. No idea why that should mater but put the battery in and the sound will clear up. I also like the size and shape a lot. Not only aesthetic but takes up minimal space on my desk. Can be tucked out of the way. Won't knock over easy like traditional PC speakers. The Vol control is smooth. I prefer knob vs push buttons. I don't plan on using the BT function much but I did check it with my phone and it paired up and worked just fine.

I needed a little "radio" for my kitchen. i use the blutooth function w/ my iphone. I'm a CNA; saw this in a resident's room and thought I'd buy one for myself. I still need to buy a little usb stick for it. It has pretty good sound. I like how small this speaker is. it comes with a usb cord for charging (i have a usb outlet installed in my kitchen), and it comes with an audio cord incase you don't have blutooth- plugs in where you'd put your headphone plug. I like it. I'm planning to buy a 2nd one for the kids room. Haven't tested the battery life. I leave it plugged in.

So far I just got this device and plugged it in. Unfortunately there is an incredible buzzing! It is so unpleasant and I only hear it whenever I plug in the 3.5 mm aux cord in. I tried a different cord than the one that came with it but... still buzzing. When I tried turning the volume up, it all but clonked out! The speaker started stuttering and going off and coming back on. I'm going to let it charge for a few hours and then try again. But... if it keeps up I'm just gonna send it back. Blah I will update.

Great sound for the price. Nowhere near as much bass as the Bose mini, but sounds as good as our JBL OnBeat mini. However my favorite feature of this speaker is that it uses a manual on/off switch. Most other portable speakers have an auto-shut off. This means when I wake up in the morning, I can immediately connect my BT phone to the speaker in the bathroom, and start playing music. The price was ok at $30, but it was once on a special for $20 and I should have bought several of them. The battery life is acceptable, and there are slightly annoying always-on flashing lights on the front when in BT mode. Easily fixed with some black tape. As other's noted it uses USB mini instead of micro, but it comes with the charging cable, and you may have an old mini wall charger from an old cell phone.

This speaker exceeded my expectations. It is quite small, but the sound quality is amazing. It's much louder than I thought it was going to be. I would absolutely recommend this speaker to anyone looking for something small that packs a big punch.

I am very happy, for the price this little box have good sound. To listen to my old song from the 80 with my USB music card. It is better then a little radio, because you have stereo sound.

I liked it as a standalone sound box with music from USB port. I ordered two more for other purposes, primarily for older people bedridden who want something simple from which they can hear music, audio books, prayer or podcasts.

Still use this. Nice unit
