Misleading to say the least. **Q: Does this include fractional inch marks? The picture suggests there are none.** A: I think Sheila is answering the question for a different measuring tape. I just rec'd mine. I almost didn't order it based on her answer. I am glad I did. As Ray Brazil answered, it is your standard 1/16", 1" and 1' out to the stated 12'. **Q: How has the locking mechanism held up over time?** A: I have this exact model, and I loved it... until the lock completely broke. After only average to low usage, over 2-3 years. Only one I've had break, even among plenty questionable no-namers and freebies. It will not lock at all anymore, tape always retracts (only slightly slowed if locked). I've taken it apart, and the lock mechanism (you can partly see it in one of product photos) is plastic, thin, and not worthy of fixing (if even possible). Komelon does not sell the part (ha), nor did they offer to replace the unit. That tells me everything I need to know. Thanks for asking (five years ago). **Q: How far can you pull it out before it bends over?** A: If you’re not supporting the tape with your second hand, it starts arching at around 40” (1m) and buckles at around 55” (1.4m). One reason is because it’s always in my pocket. Rarely do we need to measure anything longer than 12 feet so people have become accustomed to asking me for my Tape Measure instead of sending someone to the toolbox to get the big 30 foot tape measure for a 4 foot job.
