Great for capturing and monitoring professional quality audio with our DSLR
We use this unit with our Canon 70d DSLR and the Samson UM1/77 QL5 lavalier micro diversity wireless system. We connect our wireless mics with a mic jack input. It has two channels with XLR connectors and a single 1/8" output depending on your needs. Each channel features its own level control, and you can select between dual mono or stereo. The headphone output jack is a home-rum since my camera does not have one. It's very important to monitor the quality of your audio during the recording process. You can also visually monitor your audio levels with the built-in VU meter. It seamlessly and easily mounts on a standard tripod and then your camera mounts directly onto the unit. You will have to purchase some cables separately depending on your particular configuration and audio set up. Hope this helped you out. If you have any questions fire away - I'm not an expert or a guru but I will answer your questions honestly and to the best of my ability.

This unit has been a PERFECT companion for our DSLR rig
This unit has been a PERFECT companion for our DSLR rig, allowing you to monitor and adjust audio feeding to camera. Preamp is clean. Only recommendation would be an auto-limiter to prevent peaking for shoots you have one shot at capturing.

A must for anyone getting sound from a mixer to a video camera.
I bought this a little less than a year ago. When I first tried to use it, I was trying to use it in conjunction with a mixer that didn't have great outputs to pull from. I got a bit discouraged and put it away for a bit. A few months ago, I had an opportunity to try it again with a different mixer and it worked like a charm. If you want to use a camcorder or dslr with video with sound from a mixer, you really need to have a product like this. The signal from the board will just be too hot. Quite simply, this allows you to control the volume going into your video recording device. I've been using it with a Panasonic HC-V770 camcorder. If I can digress I'm just starting to try and do these recording on a regular basis. If anyone is thinking of doing the same, you'll need to have cables and connectors for every mixer configuration you may bump into which includes 1/4", rca and xlr. This is a great piece of equipment which I can highly recommend.
