We've used a variety of slow cookers over the past 40 years. This one is the best to ever sit on the counter. Easier than ceramic and aluminum to clean by far. The standup lid is a great design, improved function and user safety. Premium heavy gauge stainless steel 6 Qt insert. The best temperature control, and cooking temperature options I've encountered, will be challenging to discover all of the potential. Will last for years. Zojirushi is simply a superior product. Also try the Zojirushi EA-DCC10 Gourmet Sizzler Electric Griddle, you're in for a treat. Makes wonderful pancakes for the little people on the weekend.

I bought this primarily to cook rice— I realize I could have bought a rice cooker but I wanted a stainless steel pot and not one coated with pfas and other chemicals. I did not realize it takes 1 hour to cook white rice and 2 hours to cook brown rice. Also, the lowest line is for three cups of rice— so this would work well for a bigger family. You can estimate the amount of water for two cups of rice but it would have been nice to have an actual line!

Makes my soups and such, perfectly. Used to brown meat, prep soup and stew.The GOOD:1. It is Zojirushi. I own several products and my family members love all of them, including this.2. My soups taste great. Using this, I even figured out how to improve the taste of one of my soups.3. It is Zojirushi. I may sound like a fan-boi, but if Zojirushi ever makes a product that sucks? I'll mention it.NEUTRAL:1. None.The QUESTIONABLE1. READ TO THE END: The handle for setting the temperature slides too easily for my taste. Maybe it is just my unit or maybe it how it is. I've encountered no problems with it being knocked as I am quite conscouis that the handle slides easily when in motion. THE HANDLE DOES NOT MOVE ON ITSELF AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED NO ISSUE WITH IT REMAINING ON THE SETTING I CHOOSE FOR IT. Yet, it does slide more easily with little friction on the handle for temp settings. I would like to see more resistance for tactile purposes.The BAD:1. None so far.

Pros:- very good quality- very sturdy- pot is stainless steel- well packagedCons:- It’s unnecessarily huge, heavy and cumbersome. Seriously, the handles extend sideways and up in such a way that it takes up a ton of counter and/or cabinet space. Also, very heavy and clunky for a pot that doesn’t need to withstand high pressure (as this is not a pressure cooker)- Must adjust water quantity (trial and error) to get good texture on rice. Markings provided yield brown rice that is too hard.- Yogurt setting doesn’t allow adjustments to temperature or time. Pre-set time is WAY too short and yogurt is not set by end of cycle (granted, I am using soy milk so don’t know how it would be with regular cow’s milk). Have had to leave the soy milk in there for multiple hours AFTER the cycle is done (covered with a towel to preserve some warmth) before it’s actually set.Looked long and hard for a pot that was not a giant pressure cooker (instant pot type) to replace my handy 10-year old (now dead) rice cooker that also had a very convenient yogurt setting. Evidently those don’t exist anymore. This is just OK for the specific things I wanted; probably wouldn’t purchase again. Especially at that price point.

We were looking for a replacement for our super old slow cooker and zojirushi was the perfect answer. This one appliance does slow cooking (with 4 temp.settings), we can steam fish or veg, make homemade yogurt!, and even mKe a stew where you brown/sizzle meat and onions before setting it to slower cook mode. You can also use as a rice/quinoa cooker, but because it is a stainless steel pot, the rice tends to stick. So we ended up getting a dedicated rice cooker as well. But we really love our new multi-cooker: so versatile and a solid product from a great brand.

We have an Instant Pot and don't want another pressure cooker. So far made 2 pots of vegetables and mixed grains soup. The foods don't stick on the bottom of the pot. We are happy with it. This cooker is very big.
