Terraforming Mars The Colonies by Stronghold Games, Strategy Board Game

Having colonies with different resources gives players the variety of options to pay for the cards. Moreover, such colonies as Pluto allow to get additional cards, and Enceladus allows to get many victory points from microbes, and animal colony - do the same for animals. Definitely recommend

We love this addition. We play with it every time, as it's not terribly complicated, but adds something to do with your excess energy resources. We changed the rules a bit to be more fun: 1. X different players can trade with a Colony which has X colonies built on it, minimum 1. Each trade moves the resource track all the way to the left as normal. 2. You can buy a new Trade Fleet as a Standard Action for 10 M€, rather than wait for a new card.

Colonies expansion is a a must for those that have played Venus and Prelude. We have played a lot of TM and have been playing Venus and prelude expansions for a while. We played our first game yesterday and it was great. There are so many more options with colonies. After playing around 50 games, it added fresh new strategy options to an awesome game.

Definitely one of the better expansions for the game. Not easy for beginners though (especially after a bunch of other expansions ;) )

This is a really cool expansion to Terraforming Mars! My husband and I have a weekly game night with his parents and we have used this expansion quite a few times. It definitely lengthened the already 2 hour long game, but it was fun!

This is a good addition to the game. We have found that this expansion affects the game more than any of the other expansions did, especially in that if one person uses the colonies better than the others, then that person usually wins. With the venus expansion it added a new aspect to the game but one did not have to be involved with venus to win. With this expansion they make it cheap to participate (only 3 energy to trade) and the benefit to participating pretty significant, so you must participate to be competitive in the game. Because of this, getting a card that helps you trade is a pretty big advantage, so if one person gets it and another doesn't then they have an edge. All that being said, it is very fun to play and is definitely worth getting if you like terraforming mars. Just know that it is a significant addition.

This s a great expansion game for my favorite game Terraforming Mars. If you love a great adult board game, this is it. I recommend purchasing all of the expansions as this game is addicting and you will wish there were even more expansions. Overall great buy, just make sure you have the base game first.

Probably the most dynamic of the expansions. Adds "Build Colony" as a standard project and "Trade" as an action. There are bonuses associated with both. It cuts about 1 generation off of our 3 player games and we use solar phase, as recommended in the expansion rules. We typically play with all expansions.

Might have been because of the new tiles, maybe the idea of traveling and colonize more worlds/planets, or perhaps the idea of having trade ships flying around; for whatever reason, Colonies was THE expansion I wanted to get. Obviously I ended up purchasing pretty much all of them, but that's beside the point. Colonies lets you add a pretty cool dynamic to the game, where the way you trade and build colonies ends up increasing some of the most important factors of the TM engine: heat and plants production, or more oceans, electricity, titanium and so on. I found it pretty cool and easier to implement as opposed to Turmoil (the politics expansion). So if you want to get something that adds fun and is not hard to understand, Colonies is for you.

Ein tolles Spiel! Sehr umfangreich und wie alle Dungeon Crawler ist die Spielphysik bescheiden. Ich kann dieses Kennerspiel empfehlen.

El producto llegó en buen estado. No es necesario comprar esta expansión para disfrutar el juego original, pero si eres una persona que juega Terraforming Mars bastante seguido, es una buena adición para agregarle un poco de variación. El juego es fácil de aprender y ofrece nuevas opciones para cambiar tu modo de juego. Por lo menos para hacer alguna acción adicional por turno. Divertido, fácil, dinámico. Desearía unicamente que estas expansiones llegaran con mas cubos de jugador :(
