Yum
These roasted chestnuts are absolutely delicious and bring back such fond memories from my childhood. I used to eat them all the time, and the taste takes me right back. The flavor is just as I remember—so glad I found these!

Christmas and freeze 2 lbs for Easter but the crop I got from my local import stand was so bad this past fall
I was very, VERY skeptical of ordering these but was desperate to make my chestnut-rice filling for Greek Easter. If you use chestnuts, you know that there is a small window to purchase and prepare to freeze them in Oct - early November. Being the filling maker in the family I usually make for Thanksgiving, Christmas and freeze 2 lbs for Easter but the crop I got from my local import stand was so bad this past fall ! I opened to find most were moldy - and at $6.50 a pound ! Not to mention the hard work it is to boil & peel them plus the fact the weight you pay for includes the thick shell weight. I buy everything else I can think of from Amazon so I gave it a try. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM ANYWHERE ELSE AGAIN !! WONDERFUL PRODUCT !! I received them within 2 days of ordering them and they were fresh & perfect for my recipe! I made my filling and tore open 3 bags and dumped them in before it went into the oven. The old Greeks at the dinner yesterday told me that I was getting better at peeling them because they were "whole" in the dish - a good thing! I hated to tell them it was no work and much less money to buy them from Amazon! I will be spreading the word to everyone I know. Thanks.

GREAT HEALTHY SNACK!
I grew up with chestnuts and for years I roasted my own (seasonally) and had to deal with what I found inside (good or rotten) after roasting them. Well, no more roasting for me! I now can eat chestnuts anytime and these taste just as good as roasting them yourself after you've put them in the microwave on high for about 15 seconds.I also find the flavor very good. Although the darker color took some getting used to, it makes no difference to the chestnut flavor at all. I found them moist. However, chestnuts are a drier nut. (My grandfather always ate them with his wine!)Chestnuts are also part of my diet. They're low in calories, no cholesterol or fat and have a lot of Vitamin C and some iron even. Much better than any other nut to munch on IMHO.I was buying these at my local grocery store, but due to the Christmas season, they're out. If they don't restock, I'll be buying them again on-line. These are a staple in my household. Everyone loves to munch on them....esp. after they've been microwaved a wee bit to get them warm.

Overall good product.
Good flavor slightly dark and discollered but what you expect from packaged product??Saves on lots of time boiling and peeling for thanksgiving turkey dressing.

Delicious, varied colors, great for vitamin deficiencies!
Not sure what happened to all the bad photos from others came from...must have been a huge temperature change or bad environments for them. These are soo good! They're slightly sweeter than some I've had but are great for snacking. Each bag says its 4 servings but honestly I could eat a whole bag in one or two sittings. The color variations are normal, I've made them fresh too and the color variation is true and organic. These are great for protein and iron deficient folks!

Chestnut stuffing, chestnut sage soup! The best!
Every year I search for prepared chestnuts for holiday meals. I use them in stuffing, and in chestnut sage cream soup. They are wonderful! The price for the product was also excellent, much better than I have previously found elsewhere, and the quality of the product was also fantastic! My only request would be to see if the amount of packaging could be reduced, or made biodegradable, for environmental reasons. I love your product!

Loved them!
For years I have been buying “fresh” chestnuts at the grocery store to roast in the oven. Seems only one or two are actually fresh. The rest are stale, hard or 🤮. So these bags are a real treat! No hassle with roasting and all of them are fresh and very tasty. Thank you so much for making these available!

Disgusting, phony, not at all like chestnuts from street vendors in New York
Don't waste your money. Try to find REAL CHESTNUTS and roast them yourself. Here, they try to get them around Christmastime. As you can see from my other reviews, when I like something, I like it! I usually adhere to the motto: "If you can't say something good, don't say anything". This time is different.I have gone through five of the six bags, trying them by heating them up with salt, without salt and even trying them cold to see if there was any way they would taste good. They are HORRIBLE!They are NOT the hot roasted chestnuts my dad always bought little bags of for us every Christmas in New York, from the street vendors. Those were real and those were delicious. They had the right texture, also, not like these.I'm not sure what these things are, but they are NOT CHESTNUTS. I'm a New Yorker who moved south only a few years ago. I know roasted chestnuts. These are disgusting. I'm giving up and throwing away the last bag. I'd be too embarrassed to give them to my friends.
