Great air purifier
Just started using the Alen BreatheSmart 75i yesterday morning. Easy to set up, quiet, and seems to clean the air. Consumer Reports number one choice.Have been using this large, wonderful air purifier for weeks, and I can see a difference in the low amount of dust in the house. The air is definitely better.

Really cleans the air!
Very happy with this filter. Very quiet. Much less dust around the house. I really like the indicator switching color when it detects dirtier air.

Clean air during wildfires
Worked great during the PNW 2021 wildfire season. Took about 1 full day to get air from purple quality down to green but there was a noticeable difference. I used this in a 900 sq ft apartment and we could definitely feel the difference in air quality once it got the air to green in the air quality sensor.Once the smoke left our area and I opened the windows I could notice the difference in poor outdoor air quality even at ‘good’ for our area. I actually cannot wait for colder weather where we have to keep the windows closed so I can breathe cleaner air indoors.I will say though that the Alen customer service is a little slow (possibly due to seasonal demand) and my purifier came without a filter which I’m still waiting on. I had ordered the “odor” filter in addition to the purifier so I was still able to use it right away. I just wish they had a more heavy duty filter like the 45i with more activated carbon to capture smoke and CO2.

Well worth the cost, rather quiet and works great.

Clean air!
While it is rather large, it looks nice. Does a great job of automatically kicking in to high when cooking. Seems to cool a room as well. Glad we got it.

Air has unpleasant odor
Unpleasant chemical-like odor with the air from the unit. We are hoping this will dissipate soon. Otherwise unit is quiet and easy to use.

Actually very dangerous as an "air purifier" ...
So here's the thing. As a HEPA filter alone, this could be an outstanding product. It's quiet, it's huge but nice looking, and it moves a lot of air.But if you want the carbon filter layer, this "filter" is - seriously - very dangerous to use. I warn you not to use it, and recommend you fact check what I have to say about it.I've been pleased with the HEPA filter (I signed up for the 6 month replacement subscription) but went for the carbon layer like all the other air purifiers I have - we're in wildfire CA of course. My first carbon filter, right out of the packaging, was covered in filth. It looked like carbon or soot, but it also looked like grease of some kind (see photos) had gotten on it.First of all, none of my air filters for any other brand has ever leaked this much carbon from the filter "naturally." I've never had to wipe them down. That's not a "normal" thing for carbon filters for your air.But most importantly, THIS IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH. If the carbon is leaking from the filter from the start, that means it is being pushed right into your air as "clean" air. Activated carbon is one of the most dangerous things to inhale - not something to take lightly as a company that charges $800 for an air "purifier."I contacted support, they said it was a leaky carbon filter and they replaced it quickly. But the second one has the -exact- same issue - the carbon leaks right out of these filters as if it were cigarette ash. I contacted support and they said that this was "normal" for a few days before it cleared out.Yeah, it clears out because you breathe it all in. That is not acceptable for a brand that wants to purify your air.Maybe you're OK with paying nearly $1K for an air purifier, but this is more than just a bad batch of filters or streak of luck - this means the company does not actually specialize in the field as much as seized an opportunity to get into a business that's going to be lucrative for years to come.Stay safe and don't go Alen. Google for yourself the health effects of breathing carbon and fact check what I'm trying to warn you about. Don't just take it from me.
