Bulk Reef Supply BRS GFO Granular Ferric Oxide 1.0 lbs

I've ordered this same GFO from BRS in the past without issue. This time decided to grab it through Amazon Prime to save on shipping. Unfortunately, any savings in shipping have been mitigated by having to toss/filter out about 25% of the contents because the granule size was too fine. It looks like the container was either shaken vigorously for an extended period of time, or was perhaps a QC oversight. I've used GFO from TLF, BRS, and even phos-x, in all instances, the granule sizes were far more uniform than this batch of GFO.It seems to work the same as my last batch of GFO from BRS direct, but the added pain of sifting out all the fine particles (more so than usual with GFO) and the loss of usable product due to granule size makes this a losing deal compared to past experiences.

I was buying expensive pre packaged products for way too much $$ and was getting inferior results. Buying this in bulk and mixing with their carbon has completely changed the way my reef tank looks. No algae or diatoms on glass for DAYS! I mix in a mesh bag with their carbon. Only a small amount is needed.

Amazing!!!! Put this in my Phosban reactor it has basically removed all the phosphate from my tank in a few day. Decreased my phosphate by 90% in 4 days

Been running for about a month. Aquarium is pristine and crystal clear. No more algal problems. Aquarium life is happily and healthily thriving.

this stuff breaks up very easy into powder didnt work well in a filter bag i guess the high capacity stuff is harder and doesnt break up as easy i wont be buying it again just gonna stay with phosguard

works every time.

It doesn't work as well as Two Little Fishes Phosban

alot of dust in this , rinsed for ever and still was full of dust.
