When I saw the photo and the price, I thought this was either a really terrible marketing decision or the best beef deal that I'd ever seen.A super trimmed high choice steak that's marbled like it's prime beef?That isn't what you're going to get, so the correct answer was "terrible marketing decision".This is the beef equivalent of seeing a fast food photo and then seeing what you actually get.The "porterhouse" I received was from the small end, nearly round, with a boatload of random connective tissue. Normally you don't end up ptui-ing out chewy bits after working on them for 5 minutes, but that's what I did here.The cut was uneven, generally thin, the filet portion was small, there was no center bone and just two little round bones from the backbone area.Flavor was fine, it smelled exceptionally fresh (about a week left on expiration), and I had no trouble cooking it as I know when you have a steak <1.5" you generally want to cook it straight from the refrigerator instead of letting it rest at room temp for ~30 minutes as you would with a thick cut.I got medium rare from it. It was an okay eating experience in line with my expectations and the price. I might even buy it again.But dang Pat Lafrieda folks. Lead with a more realistic photo? And teach someone how to cut a steak evenly? I'm a relative rookie and I can manage that from a primal.As a side comment, I'm a frequent shopper of Imperfect Foods, so I'm used to oddly cut pieces of meat.

This was a last minute add on so maybe I received one that was off…it was grey & definitely no cold upon arrival.

I appreciate this being available on Amazon Fresh. Pat La Frieda has great quality meats (check out their air-chilled chicken) and it is nice to just have this show up, season it and throw it on the grill, but I do think it is a bit pricey.

I have bought 4 of these steaks and every time the steaks are the best I’ve had. Always tender and no fat to chew on. Amazing steaks
