A: Yes , after they've been washed a few times they are very soft and absorbent.

**Q: I would like to know if these bandannas are thick and durable? i make patch jean blankets and use 22 x 22 bandannas for backings. i use hanes**
A: Yes as the product description says , they are heavy cotton . They will make great backing , When you receive them you will see they are much heavier fabric than "normal" quilters backing .

A: They are tough enough. I'm a smokejumper and mine see serious outdoor service.
