Aerial Silk
The media could not be loaded. I really like my aerial silk. I’ve never purchased this type of product before and trusted what others said about it to help me make my selection. The customer service here was also excellent. Thank you for I really appreciate it.

Never despise a good solid basis!
As a certified Stott Pilates instructor, I love to see progressions, and proper form and technique. I have been doing silks 2,5 years, and wished I had this book earlier! Although it is basic, what was the purpose, I use it in my private aerial training sessions. As a guide, to train, by walking through the book and repeating everything 3 times. I do have a teacher myself, but she started out with me too advanced, and I feel I lack the basic training to gain more resistance and confidence! Jills videos I love, she is a gifted teacher and performer. I wrote an e-book on Pilates on the SUP myself, and I know how much work it is, thanks Jill, I really appreciate your material!!

An excellent resource
My daughter and I have been doing silks for just a month (babies lol) and have been finding the step by step reminders in Jill's book very useful. I especially love the tips on toning and workout to hone just the right muscles and stretching guides so that when we're back in the main studio, we can fly with confidence.Highly recommended!

Good for Beginners in combo with classes
This book is nice as a supplement to practicing as a person is talking a beginners class. I would not recommend trying to teach oneself beginning silks from this or any book alone (and I think anyone with a legitimate amount of practice and experience would suggest the same) so please do not buy with the assumption that you can introduce yourself to silks from this or any book. With that said, its great to use as a reference during open practice sessions or to learn a few new things after you have received actual instruction on the basics. The book shows you the correct as well as commonly done incorrect ways to do a move or hold a position which is very good. It has lots of pictures and is pretty step-by-step. However there are some moves that confused me (how did she get from this picture to that one?) so having an instructor show you and then using the book as a reference afterwards is really the best use of it.Some really important things like proper shoulder alignment need to be stressed. Shoulder injury is very common to aerialists and alignment will be different depending on what move you are doing. Try doing the Iron Cross without knowing how to position your shoulders and support your weight without shrugging them and say hello to shoulder injury and waiting 5 weeks to practice again (from experience). The book mentions these things but you need a teacher to keep you habituated into keeping correct posture. If you start of learning with bad posture it's a heck of a habit to break and you will get injured. If there are no classes in town, cough up some money for a private lesson or two and then practice on your own with this book. It's for your own good.

K.I.S.S and Informative
I was very nervous to buy this book at first. After I opened it I was quickly relived to find out how simple this book really was!! The author Jill F. truly kept the book "Keep It Simple Stupid". I can't wait to buy more of her books and use new technique drill in class!

This is good for reinforcing the beginner moves
This is good for reinforcing the beginner moves. I thought the guide would have been more extensive. It was under 100 pages I believe. I learned nothing but someone else might learn something. I was hoping for tips that would supplement my training. Not much besides the bare basics. I love her instructional youtube videos. Those are much more extensive and helpful. She has a lot of good cues that have helped me clean up moves, make them easier etc. The moves she teaches on youtube are limited, then you'd have to buy her monthly subscription to her videos. Not sure if it is worth it but probably much more valuable that the book. thankfully I scored this on her 99 cent sale.

Beginner Aerialist
I'm using this everyday to create the body and skills i need to succeed! I'm also happy that a lot of the basic excursuses where ones i used to do in high school from learning from advanced books! You will sculpt and burn cals very quickly if you follow the instructions! Just be consistent ;-) <3

Good for beginners and instructor to refer to for cues
Basic positions, wrap and knot introduced, good for beginners and instructor to refer to as a guideline to begin silks and clear the cues of some basic wraps and locks.
