Good rice
Lovely rice, I’ve knocked off a star as it’s no better than the cheaper versions at a higher price so not great value for money. Easy to use and tasty though.

Fab rice for the money
Lovely flavour... good value for money... I only buy these packet rice's when they're on offer, then stock up... I haven't bought real rice for years

It's ok
It's ok, nothing to shout about. My preference is Pigeon peas, which has a lovely slightly nutty taste.(Gungo peas) instead of using red kidney beans. These packets are ideal if you're busy and in a rush. Right here on Amazon they sell dried Pigeon peas in a bag for less than a fiver. Use this to make your own rice & peas, it works out cheaper. Once you've made your rice & peas you can freeze some in your freezer. All you need to do is soak some of the dried Pigeon peas overnight, the next day cook gently in salted water for about 45-60 minutes, until soft (drain out water). Get another pot on the cooker with some easy cook (Don't use basmati rice, it's too delicate for R&P) white rice, (observe cooking time of rice) add water to cover rice, add salt, 3x sprigs of fresh tyme, 1x UN-CHOPPED!! Scotch Bonnet pepper (small) 1/2 piece of a Cream of Coconut block (where to find cream of coconut? Amazon, sainsburys, tesco's, Asda, Asian supermarket etc..) add also the cooked Pigeon peas, stir every thing together, gently. Make sure the 1/2 piece of cream of coconut has all desolved. Cover pot with a lid, test the rice occasionally, if needed add a little amount of water, when you're happy the rice is cooked you may have some water left in the pot, drain it off, turn the heat off and put the lid back on, let it sit for 10 minutes or so. Serve with savory chicken, or curry vegetables or Mutton. Note: at the very end, carefully remove scotch bonnet pepper and discard.🇧🇧🇹🇹🇯🇲🇬🇧
