After it is dry, it can be sanded, drilled, carved and painted with water-based acrylic paints. Smoother, finer, and less sticky than earthen clay. Here are some tips for working with Air Dry Clay: Only remove the amount of clay you need and put the rest in an air tight container to use for next time, use water to join two pieces together, knead the clay before shaping into your project and work on a non porous surface like metal, ceramic, glass or the Sculpey work mat.
