The Polar Express Hot Chocolate O Gauge Model Train Car

Received the car in great shape, original box damaged but car was fine.

Very cool 0 gauge train car !

I purchased the Hot Chocolate Add-On Passenger Car and Disappearing Hobo Add-On Passenger Car so I would have a total of five cars in my train. The figure configuration of the coach car included in the set and Hot Chocolate Add-On car are somewhat similar. Both cars are constructed the same with somewhat different window and figure configuration. Both show faded children figures, one detail colored waiter/server and one detailed colored chef figure holding cups depicted on both sides. The car included in the original purchased set has the "hero" children figures and "know-it-all" kid figure where the hot chocolate car does not. The hot chocolate add-on car is minus above mentioned children figures and has two shaded windows, three faded waiter/servers and two faded chefs one at each end of the car depicted on both sides. As there is no Hot Chocolate Machine depicted in the hot chocolate add-on car, one might suggest less hero children in one car and window/waiter-server configuration in the other, both infer hot chocolate is being served!

But! I did peek, this is actually for my husband for Christmas, to go along with the O gauge Polar Express set with some other accessories also. He loves trains, loves Lionel, loves the movie Polar Express! It looks very nice, as do the other things I ordered. So I’ll try and comment again after Christmas if I’m allowed to on Amazon. It was great but for the price it should sing the song

I am concerned about this Lionel passenger car. I have never received an item from Amazon before where the package was in bad condition. The car is packed inside the Lionel product box, which is then packed inside an outer shipping box. The shipping box looked fine, but the box the car was packaged in was not. The box looked 10 years old, with tears on the end flaps and corners of box crushed. I carefully unboxed the car and inspected it, it appears to be ok but I won’t know until I test it on the track. I hope I didn’t get a used product which was returned to Amazon by another customer. Based on the condition of the item, Amazon should not have advertised this as new. Very disappointed. There was some type of sticky label on the end of the box which obscured the standard label affixed to the box by Lionel. Didn’t recognize this label, I had to check the car carefully to be sure I was even shipped the correct product. I hope it works. For the price of Lionel items, I expect better quality than this.

Kid loves the hot chocolate car (only) in the whole movie so against all advice I bought it for Hape wooden tracks and it works - connecting to the Engine was a bit of DIY though. He is happy and I saved a ton of money.

Very good o-gauge polar express carriage

Awesome price if you're in Australia, fast delivery and a great edition to the Polar Express set from Lionel. I have both the black and snow covered roof sets and this looks fantastic with the snow covered passenger roof set.
