Review: Good RADIO - I chose this for my gost hunting,,,re to make it a voice box, But have found that it is not made for that,, re the modifications that are required to make it such do NOT WORK. there for it is a prefect radio,,,,and not for paranormal work as is recomeneded out there in the internet world. Review: Another great Sangean product - DO not use Li-ion rechargeable batteries - I just added this radio to a list of other Sangean radio products I have purchased, the WFR-32 table top internet radio, the HDT-20 HD radio receiver and the HDR-18 HD table top radio. All are excellent. The hand held / portable AM/FM radio I had been using is a small rechargeable one about half the size and price of this unit. But, it also has about half the capabilities of this portable radio. You get what you pay for by spending a moderate amount of extra money for this. This does require batteries but not an issue to me - I suppose I could just buy rechargeable batteries and make it one if I wanted. The reception, sound quality, ability to lock into channels and its general functionality is excellent and much better than what I had. The bass boost and My Favorite channels button are great bonuses and it general operation is very logical and intuitive. It’s still small enough if I wanted to use the belt clip and walk around with it and the much better reception makes that portability option a much better experience. With the other you have to constantly move into a position to get the best reception. There is much less of that. The product is another Sangean hit for this customer. I had not planned to use the wired headphones that came with it but these sound very good although I am sure I could maximize the sound with a better pair. This radio is a keeper. Do not use lithium ion batteries as they create electrical interference that blocks AM reception. If you want rechargeables use NiHMs which don’t create the electrical interference and reception problems. ## Features - 19 radom AM/FM memory presets with Auto station Scanning and auto seek - Removable belt clip, stereo earbuds, trailing antenna included, Operates on 2 AA Batteries (not included) - International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00006HOKR | | Antenna Location | News | | Audio Output Mode | Stereo | | Best Sellers Rank | 240,183 in Electronics & Photo ( See Top 100 in Electronics & Photo ) 730 in Portable DAB Radios 5,681 in Alarm Clocks (Home & Kitchen) | | Box Contents | Belt Clip, Earbuds, Owner's Manual | | Brand | Sangean | | Brand Name | Sangean | | Colour | Black | | Compatible Devices | Headphone, Earphone | | Connectivity technology | Auxiliary | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,674 Reviews | | Display Technology | LCD | | Display Type | VFD | | Enclosure Material | Plastic | | Frequency | 108 MHz | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00729288022008 | | Hardware Interface | Headphone | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 6.7L x 1.9W x 11.1H centimetres | | Item Weight | 227 g | | Manufacturer | Sangean America, Inc. | | Manufacturer Part Number | FBA_DT200X | | Maximum Speaker Output Power (in watts) | 1.2 Watts | | Model Number | DT-200X | | Network Connectivity Technology | Auxiliary | | Number of Batteries | 2 AA batteries required. | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Power Source | Battery Powered | | Product Features | Portable | | Product dimensions | 6.7L x 1.9W x 11.1H centimetres | | Radio Bands Supported | AM, FM | | Special feature | Portable | | Style Name | Radio | | Tuner Type | FM | | Tuner technology | FM | | UPC | 163120742158 885655257760 804066560702 885837285895 021111498548 806293906704 809385664186 568170493577 079531865969 806293526261 071090170768 809186269238 808111675779 885120166283 132018493373 872182668466 971471437575 804066560719 601000792188 777780333030 079532231480 971476195647 088037870957 809186269221 729288022008 617407443554 012301024258 611101468806 132017555157 851975727894 1723026055… | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Sangean - **Colour:** Black - **Connectivity technology:** Auxiliary - **Included components:** Belt Clip, Earbuds, Owner's Manual - **Power source:** Battery Powered - **Product dimensions:** 6.7L x 1.9W x 11.1H centimetres - **Radio bands supported:** AM, FM - **Special feature:** Portable - **Style:** Radio - **Tuner technology:** FM ## Images ![DT-200X FM-Stereo/AM Digital Tuning Pocket Radio Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71O4+18uvCL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does it has permanent rod antenna or it's wire antenna which hangs out while listening to FM band. Thanks,** A: The AM antenna is internal. The FM antenna is external and it is connected to the headphone jack. The external FM antenna is either the headphone cable (when listening to speaker or headphones) or the included cable that plugs into the headphone jack. If nothing is plugged into the headphone jack the radio has no FM antenna. The AM antenna is a coil of wire wrapped around a ferrite core. It has directional gain and you can sometimes improve reception by rotating the radio when listening to weak AM signals. **Q: The AM band in my car radio no longer works. Can I plug this into the auxiliary jack and listen to AM radio through the car?** A: Hi Miggy,Although I don't have a jack in my car radio to try what you asked about, I see absolutely no reason why it wouldn't work. The car radio jacks are designed for MP3 players and the Sangean radio's output should be essentially identical to that of an MP3 player. You'll need only a male/male stereo cable to make the connection. The only thing I'd be concerned about is whether the Sangean's reception inside the car is acceptable. My guess is that if you're in an urban environment and the station is a powerful one you should be OK. Amazon is excellent about returns so if you keep all the packaging you should have no problems returning the radio if reception isn't what you had hoped. **Q: Does this have built in speakers? You can not use ear buds or head phones and you can still hear the radio?** A: I just opened mine and am exploring it. You CAN listen to the speaker with the buds plugged in but not at the same time. There is a switch on the left side that switches between ST (stereo), MO (mono), and SP (speaker). When you switch it to SP, the earbuds turn off and the speaker turns on but the radio continues to use the wire as the antenna. If you don't want the buds plugged in, It comes with a wire that looks like an ear buds wire without the buds, that you plug in and the radio uses that as the antenna. **Q: Does it have a lock for stations and a lock for on/off?** A: Yes that is one of its greatest features. The lock disables everything but the volume wheel. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐ Good RADIO *by A***W on 1 October 2013* I chose this for my gost hunting,,,re to make it a voice box, But have found that it is not made for that,, re the modifications that are required to make it such do NOT WORK. there for it is a prefect radio,,,,and not for paranormal work as is recomeneded out there in the internet world. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another great Sangean product - DO not use Li-ion rechargeable batteries *by J***K on 26 February 2024* I just added this radio to a list of other Sangean radio products I have purchased, the WFR-32 table top internet radio, the HDT-20 HD radio receiver and the HDR-18 HD table top radio. I like the way scrolling through the preset stations includes both AM and FM stations. Outside the USA you need to set the AM step but once done every thing works fine. Note this is exactly the same as the DT250, just a different colour. ## Frequently Bought Together - Sangean DT-200X AM/FM Synthesized Pocket Radio - Panasonic ErgoFit Wired Earbuds, 3.5mm Jack In-Ear Headphones Wired with Dynamic Crystal-Clear Sound and Ultra Soft Ergonomic Custom-Fit Earpieces (S/M/L), for Phones and Laptops - RP-HJE120-K (Black) - Sangean DT-400W Weather Alert Pocket Radio, AM/FM, Yellow --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/89419564-dt-200x-fm-stereo-am-digital-tuning-pocket-radio-black](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/89419564-dt-200x-fm-stereo-am-digital-tuning-pocket-radio-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
