PawTex Premium Round Dog Bed, 40", Blue

I think I have had about 5 or 6 of these beds since 2001 and they have all done the job very well. I would caution someone about buying one of these for a puppy however. They are very tough beds for older dogs. Those sharp puppy teeth and inquisitive minds though can lead to a bed cover that has holes and broken zippers. I lost 2 bed covers due to my Yellow Lab puppy being aggressive with the cover. I think he really wanted to get inside to the stuffing! Now that his puppy teeth are gone I replaced the two beds he tore up and everything is back to normal. If you have a puppy and are serious about a dog bed I would consider K9 Ballistics dog beds or Duluth Trading has a dog bed with a cover made out of fire hose material. Both these beds are possibly the only ones that could stand up to those sharp puppy teeth. Also, when washing these PawTex beds remember to remove the stuffing and wash the cover only.

This is a great bed that is worth the money. Our 70lb black lab has chewed up every bed he's had until this one - the material is very durable and maybe it's too fluffy for him to grab onto. He loves it and will go to it even when he's not told. It gets dirty more quickly than the fleece styles of dog beds because the canvas-like material doesn't hold onto dog hair the same way. However, it's easy to wash. I throw it in the laundry as often as we wash our sheets and all is good.

The product is overall okay. The cover seems extremely durable and also seems like it would last multiple washes. The filling though...I don't know...it's not really that seemingly comfortable for the dog. It isn't foam, it's almost like pieces of fabric or something so when she gets on the bed, she sinks right to the floor. After spending the money, we wouldn't think we would have to go buy foam to fill the cover but we probably are going to just so the dog will hopefully enjoy it more. We had another bed for her, smaller one, we keep in the bed room and it literally is just some foam egg crate material covered with a fuzzy material that doesn't wash well and it was 1/4 of the price of this bed. Doesn't really seem like it is stuffed with anything comfortable for an animal but, we will somehow make this work for our fur child.

My standard poodle won't get on it. It's way higher than 4 inches! I kept it for weeks before I opened it, unfortunately.Now the window for returning it has passed. I don't know if it will become flatter or not. I'd still very much like toreturn it and buy another one from Costco. It was cheaper, bigger in diameter and my dog loved it. Costco was out of their dog beds when I wanted to replace her old one, that 's why I took a chance on this one. Mistake.

I was looking for something that didn’t scream ‘dog bed’ ; something simple and round so that it could go anywhere, but still comfortable. This bed is exactly that. The color is great and ties in really nicely with everything (and hides dirt and dog hair really well). The medium size fits my German Shepard Lab perfectly and the stuffing is perfect- at first I thought it would be too much stuffing but after about a week it flattened a bit. The cover material is substantial and comes off easily to wash. I would buy this bed again in a heartbeat.

Love these beds. They used to be available from Sierra trading post, I went to pick a couple up and couldn’t find them. In desperation I searched google, and wala Amazon was the first entry.We have probably owned 20 or more of these beds. They last, the covers are durable, holds up well in the wash, and are quite comfortable. When they start to wear out, you can combine the stuffing from 2 beds into one.

I only checked four stars (I like it) due to the fact that, after bathing our dogs yesterday, which I do approximately every 2-3 week, I finally washed the outer,removable cover and put the bag's insert into it. put it on the bags insert. The dogs used it last night, seemed to like it. So far so good.Thanks.Patty & Dennis V

Just purchased a second 40” in navy for our standard poodle. I care a lot about how everything in our house looks, and It’s surprisingly difficult to find a simple dog bed that isn’t an eye sore! This bed is a really nice color and material, our dog loves it, and looks nice in our home!

this bed does not measure 40 inches, like the description states, mine is barely 36 inches
