Size:16 Ounce Coarse Grade | Color:Beige SoftSand Rubber particles are developed for non-skid coatings. The particles can be used with any paint. They can be added directly to the paint (1/4 pint per quart of paint or 1 pint per gallon of paint) and brushed, rolled or sprayed. The particles can also be manually sprinkled (broadcast) onto a wet coat of paint. Allow this to dry, remove the excess particles, and then apply 1 or 2 coats over the particles. SoftSand rubber particles can even be used to create beautifully textured, decorative coatings. These coatings can be applied to walls, floors, doors, etc. Available in your choice of white or beige, in 4 or 16 oz sizes.

Great for fiberglass shower floor pan repairs
Had a crack in my fiberglass shower floor pan and patched with Home Depot bought fiberglass repair kit. I underestimated the wife’s reaction to the brown patches so I chose to paint the shower floor with Rust-Oleum Tub & Tile instead of continuing a weeklong argument about remodeling for a custom shower. Followed the instructions and mixed about half of the content for 4 to 5 thick coats. I highly recommend using 4” nap rollers which will hide the brushstrokes due to the thickness of the paint and helps spread the rubber evenly. I hand tossed the SoftSand Rubber Particles SR-101 Non-Skid Coatings after the third and fourth coats to provide texture to the floor pan. That made a huge difference! After the third coat I tossed in the rubber over the wet paint, ensuring even coverage, and followed up with another coat while the original coat was still wet. The nap roller grabs a lot of the rubber from thinker areas and helps it to spread evenly across the wet paint . I repeated this process one more time after the third coat was dry and use the remaining to fill-in the gaps. The entire pack was used to put a thick coat on the shower pan and I can confirm that the shower floor is not at all slick, even with soap and conditioner on the floor, but still feels comfortable on bare feet.Pictures are of the white paint and if you look closely you can see the texture added by this product.

Great non-slip floor paint additive!
I painted a wooden deck and wanted a non-slip finish but also wanted one that wasn't uncomfortable for pets and bare feet. The results are exactly what I was going for. I didn't follow package directions which called for stirring the entire bag into a can of paint because I had railings and vertical slats that didn't need the non-slip finish and I didn't want to waste the product. I simply stirred some into the paint in roller pan each time I was painting a flat surface and it worked beautifully. I added a bit more on the steps. No slipping and it doesn't hurt bare feet.

Low coverage, but the non slip works really well!
I applied it following boat works today's guidelines - that is to sprinkle it heavily onto a wet painted surface. The coverage the company lists is no where near right for this, you probably want 8x what they recommend. Once you get to that level, you need to spend a lot per square foot. Applied this way, the non-slip properties are exceptional and the finish looks great.I can't comment on how well it works if you mix it directly with the paint.

AMAZING for stairs
This stuff saved my sanity. I just bought a townhouse from, let’s say, a very ~eclectic~ seller. He had painted the stairs with a bright red high-gloss paint, and they were a) a death trap waiting to happen, and b) way too slippery for my dog. She became a nervous wreck and made my life very hard for a couple of weeks with her nonstop panic. Enter google, and I found this lifesaver. I used the sprinkle method - primer, paint, sprinkle while still wet (kind of like glitter), let dry and sweep off excess, paint, paint. It worked like a charm! The stairs are now super nonslip and I’m not cleaning up nervous dog doo three times a day. I used a full bag on the full set of stairs and went very heavy-handed, and it was exactly enough. 10/10, could not have worked any better.

Good for boat non-slip
Bought the SoftSand pint bag for a recent boat remodel project I'm working on. I mixed it directly into my Pettit Paint single-part EZ-Poxy polyurethane topiside paint. The mixing went well. Applied with a foam roller and the granules suspended long enough to apply to the boat what I mixed. Floor looks good -- anxious to take it to the lake now! If/when I do another boat floor remodel, I would cut in 1/3 or 1/2 the amount used suggested in the directions. I found it to be a heavy mixture of granules vs. paint ratio. Lots of SoftSand left-over in my roller tray.

Excellent grip, doesn't cut up your feet
I used SoftSand n my boat deck. I am very pleased with the results. I am considering using it on my batroom floor. I have left over white marine grade paint. My current floor is made of large black and brown non-glazed tiles. My wife and I have never liked it. Why not paint it whiye and add SoftSand? Our bathroom is mostly white with bsby blue accents. After finishing the boat deck, we are thinking this would look great, be easy on our feet and would be asy to keep clean. This was easy to apply and does not cut up my feet like other products.

Terribly expensive
Terribly expensive for what you get, I'm not a painter so it may be reasonable for a paint additive. I used it with white bed liner to refinish the tub on a Jeep YJ. 16oz is about right for a gallon of paint. I was expecting course grade to be a bit larger, it's about 60 or 80 grit sandpaper. Not very soft when embedded in epoxy paint. Still, it did what it was supposed to do.

Pause table surface
Used it for the top of an Agility "pause table". It keeps the dogs from sliding off as they run to, then jump up onto the table. Having a sand particle size, it makes a slightly rough surface. Being mixed into the paint, it should last a long time.
