Well designed
A quality product and well designed. The anchor block can be secured multiple ways. Some real thought was put in to a relatively simple product. A couple of examples are the manufacturer actually created a wedge fit for the post to make for tighter construction. Also it is smaller than standard dimensional lumber so the drip line is out side the anchor block. There are multiple means, due to construction of the block, to attached the block to its base. Again, a lot of thought went into this very simple product. Finish is great.

Milspec Awsome / Amazon not good
I had a porch railing reconstruction because the house is 24 years old and the porch rails needed replacing. Got building materials to complete the job. Package was 2 stops away and driver turned off his GPS and would not deliver. I had been on the phone with amazon customer support to try and get these items in because they are needed to start my porch reconstruction. Very important. Now because Amazon jerk me around on these. I am sitting here with building material on my porch with the weather about change. Nice wet lumber. Amazon hung me out in the rain. I am giving 5 stars because of Milspec the company is awesome to deal with. So in short you want or need this item. GO DIRECTLY TO THE VENDOR. Don't get them here.

Use a Simpson product, not these.
Beware, these things can disenegrate. I used two of these and 5 years later one is wasting away and has a large crack in it. I've recently learned that pressure treated lumber has a chemical reaction to some metals and it looks like aluminum is one of them.

Sturdy but...
The base opening shrinks slightly as the it deepens. Depending on the width of the post it may not drop down to base. Put a small mark on the post equal to the depth of the fixture. This will aid in determining if the post is fully seated. I had to tap a couple of my posts down with a sledge. One of the bases was cast in a manner that allowed water to pool on the corners and did not drain, as seen in the photo. I did not want pooling water to wick up the post and cause rot. I drilled holes in the corners and the water drained almost immediately. This may have been unnecessary but now was the last opportunity to act.

Looks professional
Had one out of 4 6x6 that was over sized, making is a little difficult to get in base, otherwise worked well and looks great so far.

Nice looking post base, with one flaw
Most post bases are kinda crappy looking. These look so much better! The flaw is that they catch water and don't drain well. I drilled a couple of weep holes in them, and now they seem to be working great. I might also consider caulking between the post and the base to help keep the water out in the first place.
