Good book if you are interested in this era of history
I bought this book because I have seen the movies and read about this time in American history and always wondered why these gangsters are so fascinating. This gives a history of each of them that is mostly a repeat of what you probably already know. I was hoping it would go into some of the rumors that abound about what 'really happened', like Dillinger, who many say was not the man the FBI agents shot. I guess I was hoping for hidden truths that were not there, but were on thousands of minds at the time.

Great for history buffs.
Occasionally the book was less than complete but overall it was a good read. I personally enjoy reading history like this because then I can get inside the head of the person. It never ceases to amaze me how some people think.

Was interesting
A lot of information on a whole lot of people from the early "hey days" of crime. Lots of information about their early lives. Lots of information you probably didn't know.

privately enjoyed it
I thoughly recommend this book to those who want a snapshot of Prohibition/Depression-era America. I thought some of the structure confusing - or at least distracting - in the accounts of Dillinger and Baby Face Nelson, for example. One of the most interesting stories was that of Bonnie and Clyde. Either way, the personality of each public enemy comes through.

Brief and to the point
Brief biographies of a number of desperadoes from the twenties and thirties. Nicely done, quick reads for those not familiar with these old-time bad guys.

Good
This was a short but a very good telling of they’re tale. Read this book if you want a fast read.

Bonnie and Clyde section very good.
I've enjoyed this book. I didn't get on with the first section about Al Capone; I think this is because it was about American procedures which I didn't fully understand, so I skipped this part. I'm glad I didn't give the whole book up because the rest of book was good, especially the section on Bonny and Clyde. So, although the beginning wasn't very good, I've still given it 5 stars because the Bonnie and Clyde section was interesting enough to merit the high rating, especially as I was lucky enough to get it free. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on it though because it is a fairly short book.

A Must Read
I had heard of these people but to read about the was fantastic , this book is a must read. It is a hard to put down book, very informative you can actually put yourself there in that time span. I enjoyed reading about Dillinger and Bonnie and Clyde the most. I hope other readers will enjoy this book as much as I did.

Sketchy!
This gives a flavour of the gangsters but as it is obviously a short book it gives no more than that! Worth the quick flick through it takes though.
