Unfortunately, mine doesn't dissolve instantly, and even after leaving it patiently for a few minutes, I still had to manipulate it with my teeth to get it to break down. The taste is like nothing really. As for effectiveness I'm not sure if it's any better than the pill, which is very small and I usually feel very quickly after taking, depending on the time in my cycle.
