I'm reupholstering the seats of my dining room chairs. Before this terrific tool arrived I struggled removing the staples with a little screwdriver and needlenose pliers. It went very slowly and it was a real pain - literally, my hands were really beat up. This is a perfect tool for the job - it's designed just for this purpose - the prongs easily slip under the staples; then you just twist it and the staple is dislodged. It's also very well made - with strong, solid metal and a comfortable handle. You know the saying, you need the right tool for the job? This is it!

In any case, emphasis on TINY. This simply isn't the tool for giant old steel staples in 50-year-old lumber. I've seen staples that will snap the corner off a forged claw hammer.This is the tool that allows you to get an edge under the tiny little furniture staple buried some place where you don't want to damage the surface getting it out. This is the tool that helps you tease out the tiny jewelry box tack that otherwise was staying until the world burns.Great design. Angled tip with thin tines so you can approach a staple from the left or the right and get under it with very little clearance and lift it up to where you can get something thicker under it, with collateral damage.This is the right and maybe the only tool for some jobs that call for delicacy.

Solidly constructed tool for removing upholstery staples. Great reduction in time and effort required to remove staples. Certainly much better than digging them out with a small flat blade screwdriver and vice grips! One word of caution, keep your non dominant hand clear of the tool path as the tines are very sharp and sturdy!

I used this to remove some medium to heavy duty staples from the bottom of a foot rest I'm reupholstering. So far, no issues with the tips being too fragile. This seems like a very nice quality toolThe points are perfect for digging in underneath the staples. The angle of the bend near the tip feels a little shallow at times, but if it were deeper I don't think you'd be able to get the leverage you need to jam the points underneath the staple.The points are so sharp I was very mindful during the whole removal process so I wouldn't stab myself, but the handle and ergonomics of the tool did give me a feeling of general control over it. No awkward fumbling while trying to pry the staples out.A few staples broke upon removal because they were so wedged into the wood. You'll also likely need another tool to remove them (vise grips with a crisp tip to pull them, or a hammer to nail them in)This is worth the money I spent on it due to the time saved.

We needed to reupholster several bar stools. Many staples to remove. In the past I have used a screw driver and a pair of pliers. This tool worked very well to help with the removal process. I still had to use pliers an a few of the staples that were stubborn. The tool is solidly constructed both in the shaft and the handle. It was a good value for the money and made the job much simpler.
