Style and Function
The Braun projection alarm clock has an attractive sleek look compared to other projection alarm clocks. Set up is not intuitive though so you must read the directions. The face of the clock may be set to be backlit-on all of the time, or dark and just upon activation for 10 seconds per tap of a button if you prefer to sleep in a darker room. I don't find the back-light too bright as another reviewer has. You will need to use the adaptor if you prefer the backlight to be on permanently. The projection light may also be set to on permanently, or set to turn on and off by waving your hand over the projection sensor. The projected numbers are large and red and may be rotated so that you may choose where they reflect, perhaps the wall if you sleep on your side or the ceiling on your back. The clock time is set automatically by radio control once it is initially set to country and time zone. When the alarm is on, the green snooze button pops up. Once you have personalized the clock, it is easy to use and I think the time projection is very nifty and handy. I think the price is rather high so I deducted a star.Personally, I will keep the directions in a file in case I should need to reset it.Update: We have had the clock for awhile and my husband and I love it. I think it is worth the price.

Beautiful little clock that works flawlessly.
This was my last try in a long series of failed attempts to buy a decent projection clock. The old Oregon Scientific clocks were great, but the quality of the newer ones has taken a hit. This Braun clock is beautiful. I believe Braun is known for its expertise in design. The numbers it projects on the ceiling are razor sharp and crystal clear. Also, you can read the numbers on the face clearly during the day or at night. I bought this one for my husband and another brand for myself. The clock I bought for myself (brand x) has a fuzzy ceiling display and a temperature feature that works only intermittently. The face of the clock is unreadable both day and night unless you press the snooze bar for a split-second flash of light. The celing display is so bad that when I wake up at night and want to know the time, I look over at my husband's Braun clock. It's always perfectly clear. I should have bought a Braun for each of us.Anyway, this is a beautful little clock that works flawlessly. There are none other like it. It's worth the extra money.

Great Design, Average Function
This is a very nice design. It has top quality materials however it's functionality is a bit less than what I would expect from such a great German company. The biggest drawback is the display is hard to read. You can leave the light on 24/7 if you have the unit plugged in however at night it's very bright. The projection works well but there is a lighter shade of red box around the numbers. Never seen that before in a projection clock. I like to only see the numbers floating on the wall or ceiling. The global time works great! No need to set it or change the time once it's running.

Quality product
This is a terrific alarm clock. It is pricey but it is a quality product and not some cheap plastic alarm clock. The buttons have a quality feel and the display is crisp. The time projection is also crisp and the numbers look good. Most atomic clocks will not set themselves during the day but this one will which means the circuitry is better designed. The controls are easy to figure out without documentation, but its good to have around. May not have many bells and whistles like other alarm clocks but they sweat the details on this one.

Good concept for projection alarm clock but limited in functions and poor build quality - projection faded away
Update 8/4/15Contacted Zeon the manufacturer at the only address listed in the warranty in London. Vendor washed their hands of it and finally Amazon gave me a refund. A pity because it is a nice alarm clock and finding a replacement is not easy. Maybe Next will invent a game changer for alarm clocks like their thermostat? After a lot of searching, I eventually bought a Sony ICF-C1PJAnyway after this Zeon in London contacted me and gave me this address - Zeon America, 5429 Satsuma Ave, N.Hollywood, CA 91601, Tel: 323-782-9044, [email protected] to check for replacement/repair which was too late by then.Update 7/30/15After 10 months of use the projection display is fading. The only source of repair is in London UK - so between the poor build quality and de facto absence of service this is a really poor deal. If it worked as advertised GREAT otherwise junk with a good name.OriginalThere was a time when a projection alarm clock could be relied on to provide a good few years of reliable service. Now it's pretty hit or miss, the projector fizzles out, the LED display on the main unit suddenly stops working and you're left wondering why a GOOD manufacturer couldn't make something equivalent to an iPhone in terms of style and reliability as a simple stand alone alarm clock - for which the consumer would gladly pay.The best thing I've found is the Oregon Scientific RM313PNA Self-Setting Projection Clock, Silver but even then you're on your own to QC the unit - sometimes they die after 2-3 months other times they are still going several years later - especially if you don't leave the projector on during the day. And it is so U-G-L-Y.So a Braun projection alarm clock sounds like a great idea. Nicely designed, easy to set, swipe function on projector and so far so good in terms of utility. But there are several limitations. A main one as others have noted is that it is way over priced - cashing in on the Braun name. At $100 it is too expensive - especially with minimal functionality (why can't the main screen be dimmed at night?) - $60 is probably a better price given that this clock is NOT made by Braun. Braun has licensed its good name to a group in London who make it - where? A very good question as there is no information on this anywhere in the packaging. I'm also concerned about issues with reliability especially with other comments and the fact that customer support originates in London with a 441 area code for customer use - no 800 number here.Rather than cut the price, this clock needs to be brought up to the level that the name Braun engenders - make it in Germany, with a German movement, design in better user features and proper support. This clock is a good idea and one that is long overdue but poorly executed.

A for design and simplicity, F for auto time setting
We like the simplicity of the design and of the function settings. The projection (onto our ceiling) works well. But we returned the first one we ordered because the automatic time-setting function didn't set the time correctly (we read the instructions carefully and followed them precisely). The replacement didn't do any better. After several attempts we gave up and set the time manually.

Buonissimo prodotto
