Good power upgrade when needed
I had a doorbell camera (Reolink) that was not working correctly, and after MONTHS of research, thought it might be due to low power from my doorbell transformer. I ordered this one taking a chance that it was compatible, and was pleasantly surprised. Not only did it go in place of the previous transformer easily, it did the trick perfectly - my camera now works flawlessly!

Easy replacement for older underpowered transformers
Just what I needed to replace an old 10 VAC transformer too underpowered to run a new 3rd Gen Wired Google Nest doorbell cam. This unit comes with a built-in bushing and nut that makes attaching it to an electrical box very easy.

My mechanical chime goes Ding Dong again! Works with Nest Hello!
First off, transformer worked out of the box after I installed it. I purchased this in April 2020. It's still working after a more than a week. (I was afraid that it would have issues reading other reviews, but this transformer seems to be performing perfectly. I will update this review if it breaks down, but if I don't, that means it's still running) Backstory: I was excited to install my Nest Hello doorbell camera. I even checked before I bought it, that my transformer was sufficient to power it. After I installed it, the doorbell worked! But something was wrong, I realized my Nutone mechanical chime wasn't working. Are the wires in the way of the mechanism? No. After research, I found out that my existing 16v 10a transformer was not enough to power my mechanical doorbell. Unofficial "fixes" included taking off the limiter (not recommended) or getting a 24V transformer. After searching for solutions, the consensus that the safest solution was to get a transformer with a higher VA rating. I originally wanted to purchase the Nutone 16v 30va transformer but it would take longer and shipping wasn't free (also a lot of the pictures showed dented transformers) so I bought this. Review: Cosmetically, it looked just like my old transformer just bigger. Wires were slightly thinner but still pretty solid. I've read about transformers getting too hot while in operation. This got warm but nothing out of the norm. I know looks isn't everything, but it is a factor for me. Functionality. It gets the job done. After installing it, time for the moment of truth. Pressed the doorbell and now it's a LOUD Ding! AND Dong! I've heard some solutions only get a Ding without the Dong. Before getting this I wasn't sure if installing the transformer is worth the hassle. I thought maybe I don't need the mechanical doorbell. After installing it, I'm glad I did. 1. Mechanical doorbells are a nice physical real sound and not simulated electronic sound. Just sounds classy. It is distinguishable from other noises or sounds in the house. 2. No delay. Once pressed the door bell rings and everyone in the house can hear it. 3. The reason why the mechanical doorbell didn't work before is because there was a voltage drop, when the doorbell was pressed. I figured that can't be good for the doorbell camera in the long term. With a new transformer, I can have a peace of mind knowing there is proper voltage going to the doorbell camera. If you have a 16v 10va transformer, I highly recommend upgrading it to a 16v 30va transformer like this.

As advertised
Bougt this to replace a blown transformer. It puts out around 17v of power and has my Aqara doorbell camera power up well, no more changing batteries. Easy to install and has no audible hum. It does run a little warm like all transformers do.

Do not purchase!
Stay far away from Newhouse 16V 30VA Transformers. First one arrived defective (no voltage output). Amazon replaced it and the second one failed the same way within one week. Now I am having a problem trying to get another replacement from Amazon. Guess I am out the 20 something dollars that it cost me.

Great transformer upgrade for smart doorbell
Just installed this transformer today. I installed a smart doorbell about a year ago on the original transformer and just recent started getting phantom buzzing from the doorbell and power flickers. I did some research and this seemed to be the fix. Hoping this has solved my issue. Will update in a few months.

Buen producto

This tranformer will smoke and blow up when provided with 240V
I was looking for a transformer that would work with my doorbell, and this product matched the spec exactly being 30VA and 24V it looked perfect, however they neglected to say on the product description or the manual that this transformer was for 120V like they get in homes in the USA, in the UK we have a 240V. I didn't notice this at the time of installation, and when I turned the power back on, after wiring it correctly, it began to smoke and make a loud hum, thankfully the power tripped before any damage was done to the doorbell, or our house. Why on earth is this company selling a tranformer for a doorbell not suited for the electrical system of the country they are selling in, Why do they still have 13 left in their warehouse? Why are they continuing to sell this item in the UK after they have had 2 reviews already saying that this is the wrong tranformer for use in the UK

Not for Middle East or Asia
This will not work in the Middle East. It is 120v

Actual Quality
I purchased a different one at first but it was scary and cheap. Buzzed like crazy and heated up instantly. This one is dead silent, cool to the touch and runs my camera doorbell and chime perfectly. It has the proper round through hole threaded mount as well, not that weird screw side mount thing. Twice as beefy as my 16v/10ma version. Even the connection screws and pads are better and more secure.

120v. Not for UK
Wow I nearly installed this in the UK. This is rated for 120V. No mention of this in the description. Should not be sold in the UK
