Heartfelt Portrait
I had seen McQueen of Scots, but it was mostly about his relationship to Skye, and although that is one of my favorite places in the world, I never was really moved by who McQueen was. This film does all that and more. It dissolved me to tears, as I can relate to certain things, but I think it will move many people who can't really relate.I love edgy, non-cookie cutter designers and really liked his clothes/collections, but after seeing this and all his collections presented, I LOVE what he did. Esp the cut and flow; he was a master. His whole life is carefully detailed, with many wonderful interviews from all the people who knew him, including those who are no longer with us. Luckily his collections were wonderfully filmed, and you can see them all in one place here. The quality is fantastic, even of the older material. It is all blended seamlessly. I love McQueen because, for him, fashion WAS art, and that's the only thing I love about fashion anymore, when the two collide. Those days are mostly gone, alas, and he knew this day was coming, which was part of his hopelessness, I think. I will be watching this again to enjoy his collections and the heartfelt and loving way the is presented. The best tribute anyone could receive, I think.

Heartbreaking & Beautiful
This is a hauntingly beautiful and intimate portrait of Alexander McQueen. Those very near and dear to him tell his story (warts and all) with love, honor and respect. I watched this with my mother and at the end she said to me, "I get it now".

Close but no dice
This was a good documentary on McQueen. It was almost great, but I feel like something was lacking. Sometimes with the more contemporary docs, filmmakers can often gloss over things because they're so much in the cultural lexicon. I feel like this documentary started out painting a holistic picture of Lee Alexander McQueen, but then it fell off and turned him into this drug-addled sad boy. I wanted a little more commentary from other directors, like Jeremy Scott, who rose to fame on the heels of McQueen making a name for himself. He was a poor white designer from America. I think he could have lent interesting commentary. I wanted to hear more from "Sarah the Intern" -- who went on to succeed McQueen and design one of the most famous wedding dresses in history.I wanted to see more behind that famous Kate Moss hologram, which, when it happened left the great Andre Leon Talley in TEARS when he spoke of it. Because for those of us who remember, Kate Moss was struggling with addiction during this time. Where was all that??????I did learn a lot about the man in terms of his early years and his private persona, so I'm giving high marks for that. But you guys just choked on the important stuff to deliver the same-old formulaic doc I've seen a thousand times before.

The Music Nearly Destroys this film
At times this is an interesting documentary; certainly a look at the strange and to me meaningless fashion industry. But throughout the film this overpowering, horrible music score overwhelmed nearly all of the dialogue. This persistent, pounding violin score was relentless and oftentimes had nothing to do with the substance of the film. And then there's the story itself. Great success story. But personally I don't get the industry. And that's on me.But it all seems so useless.

Fascinating
This documentary of Lee Alexander McQueen unveils a troubled and poor artist in his youth, expanding in fashion on whim and determination, and eventually taking the largest fashion houses by storm. The story should be viewed for exactly what happened.A brilliant kid who suffered abuse in childhood, breaks through to be a rebel in the fashion business and goes to the top.The "TOP", according to the fashion mags featuring McQueen, include Givenge and Gucci. But McQueen still maintained his own brand, showing death and rape subject as features his of style. Or Art. Not sure. Maybe just a side note of what normal people deal with. ..NOT.It seems to me the "Yes" men and women followed along, while he appeared to be, somewhat demon possessed, to his final end.I don't blame his life-long colleaques for his issues, but seriously, why didn't you help him?My guess-----MONEY MONEY MONEY

AMAZING!
Loved this film. Shows the humble beginnings and incredible talent and drive of the late, great Alexander McQueen. Such a beautiful homage to his brilliance, but also explores the demons he fought. It's incredible to see the juxtaposition of this artist's gothic, dramatic shows and costumes while he's wearing worn jeans and a t-shirt to humbly accept the praise afterwards. You can see how torn he was with the fame, success and materialism of the fashion world. A haunting film. A haunting person you'll not soon forget.

If you loved the designer you must watch this
I've loved fashion design for over 40 years. It's the primary reason I went into photography and studied cinematography. This man was a huge inspiration to me and I was alive to see his work, though never had the pleasure to attend one of his shows. This film is a must watch if you want to get a glimpse of genius. Genius is messy. It devours most people who possess it. It is a heavy burden to carry and even giving a sliver of it to someone else greatly burdens them.I am in awe of the man and the film. It's well constructed, it's well paced, and beautifully shot. It's honest. It's unflinching, and it is very McQueen. There is profanity, there is nudity, there is honesty. It's no vulgar, it's simply the truth of the man.Bravo to the filmmakers. Best movie I've seen in quite some time.

Unable to view video.
After purchasing and clicking the remote to start the film McQueen, nothing happened. No error code, just a green screen with vertical lines. Tried closing app. and starting video over. Results were the same. Need to be credited $$3.99 for McQueen film not viewed. I use my Smart Samsung TV for viewing Amazon films but had no success with this film on 11/10/2018.

Great watch
I went to see the Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A and had to have this. I love everything about McQueen, his absolute genius and his rough diamond personality. Tragic he left us all too early but at least I have this film to watch over again. Some lovely moments on film of his beloved mum and Issy Blow. Would def recommend to fans of fashion.

badly shot but maybe that was the point ?
Loved it all - fascinating but sad to see grown ups wreck their lives. Good insight into the nonsense of fashion world.
