I have pretty small hands and like to have the strap over my knuckles, but it’s still a better fit to leave one finger out. That said they as definitely secure but will stretch to work with a tapered tumbler, which was exactly what I needed it for (I have a couple of the insulated BlenderBottles and they don’t feel secure enough to just hold and lift with one hand, even though I got one that is marketed as more slim than the others.)
