Whether you're paddling the Clackamas River in Oregon or setting out to tackle the Nahanni River in a remote part of Canada, whitewater will be part of your paddle. Keep your core warm and your boat dry with the Bomber Gear Novashock Spray Skirt. Four different waist sizes fit a range of body sizes, all the way from waifish 26-inch waists to the 42-inch waists on retired pro football players. The deck and waist are made from stretchy 4mm neoprene treated with Sub Screen technology. Teflon-based ink is pressure-injected into the neoprene, creating a permanent, highly water-repellent shield. All of the seams holding this spray skirt together are virtually bomb-proof, as well as waterproof, due to Bomblock construction. Seams are glued, blind-stitched, and taped to ensure no amount of errant water creeps into your cockpit--at least through the seams. Aramid, often used for ballistic-rated body armor, lines the coaming so your spray skirt doesn't start to shred apart at an inopportune time. The ovalized tunnel design corresponds to the shape of your waist, since your middle is anything but a perfectly round circle. A rugged 9. 5mm rubber shock-cord rand let you lock the skirt in place, and lift it with ease when you want to show a little leg. The WickClip grab loop helps you hike your skirt when portaging turns into miles of bushwhacking, and gives you a handy hanger for off-the-ground storage at the end of the day. While the Novashock loves whitewater, it's best suited for cold days and places where implosions and massive drops won't be on the menu. If you've scouted your stream or know it's a low-flow year before putting in, this easy-breathing skirt will keep you dry and paddling happy.
