Product Description Ronnie Lane was an English musician, songwriter, and producer best known as the bass guitarist and founding member of two prominent English rock and roll bands: Small Faces (196569) and subsequently Faces (196973). Subsequently Lane collaborated with other musicians, leading his own bands and pursuing a solo career, while remaining close to his former bandmates. In the late 1970s he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and was supported by charity projects and financial contributions from friends, former bandmates and fans. After suffering from the disease for 21 years, he died at 51. See Me is the fourth and the last solo studio album by Ronnie Lane and was originally released 18 years before Lane's death. See Me features several songs co-written with legendary guitarist Eric Clapton. Around this time, Lane travelled the highways and byways of England and lived a 'passing show' modern nomadic life in full Gypsy traveller costume and accommodation.

Best of Ronnie
Excellent forgot just how good the music was, when you start listening you hear other singer songwriters there ( Dylan, George Harrison one even reminds me of Bowie) these are just good easy listening songs, well worth the five stars.

A stroll down Leafy Lane
Not quite as good as the fabulous Anymore for Anymore, but still well worth hearing. What particularly struck me is how very similar in sound and approach it was to Joe Strummer's later work with the Mescaleros. Both strongly share a romantic on-the-road rock-back-to-roots sound and sensibility. Indeed on Strummer's cover of the traditional Minstrel Boy he namechecks Pete Townsend - I wonder if theres a Ronnie link there.
