7-Piece Advanced Zirconium Premium Ceramic Knife Set - Non-slip Handles

I bought this as a Christmas present for my father. The knives are very nice. The holder though is cheap plastic. When moving the knives to one position, one of the plastic pieces broke so the knife wouldn't stay in the holder. My dad had to superglue it back together. You have to be very careful with the holder.

The blade turned black in the dishwasher. Why is that?

I love it! These knives cut onions like they are butter. I have not used it on meat as of yet - but be careful, skin tends to get nicked just a bit - even from the heal of the knife. But that does not take away from the stars - I just need to watch my fingers. I am used to cheap dull knives.Update - August 14, 2014: After learning to watch my fingers - I can say that these are the best knives and they are great for cutting all kinds of meat. Wash them immediately after using and do not place them in the dishwasher. Dry them off immediately and place them back on their special rack. If you follow those directions, these knives will last for years to come. But for those of us who are able to use regular knives with ease, and you are used to cutting toward your thumb - for instance (like cutting scallions, bananas, apples, etc) - you will have to stop since these knives will leave little slits on your skin. Use the cutting board...never just use your hands. It occurs when you do not even realize it - they are that sharp.

Tips break off easily, lost their edge within a few months. If you're looking for an inexpensive set they're fine. I will spring for a high quality knife in the future.

Blades are very sharp and have stayed that way over time. The holder looks nice on our countertop and keeps the blades out of harm's way. The only drawback to ceramic blades is the tendency to chip. You will need to take a little more care with these knives, but the cut is worth the caution.

Brittle, may break point off in food. I put them in garage, not safe for kitchen.

When I bought these knives I wasn't sure if it was in a work. Now it's hard to find them because everybody uses them. I also bought a six pack of steak knives haven't even opened the box. Because these are used all the time
