Finally, a book on Chinese herbal medicine for beginners AND advanced practitioners to study and use clinically! At times, the information from the Shang Han Lun can seem intimidating in its simplicity and effectiveness but this book really helps break that down. The case studies along with the invaluable commentary from a practical, clinical standpoint by both Dr. Shima and Dr. Levy really make this book unique, informative and extremely useful. A must have for any serious practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine (TCM, Kampo or otherwise).The only difficulty with this book is sometimes the choice of language in translation and the lack of an index for the formulas.

The headline says it all. This book is amazing. EVERY practitioner who practices Japanese acupuncture should have this book on their clinic bookshelf for reference.

It's an okay book. There is not index at the end. The book is categorized based on 6 conformations. Due to lack of a proper index at the end, it makes it hard to refer to in a clinical setting but a good read for the case studies in general.
