Inspired by the stunning cinematic visuals and visceral gameplay of Space Marine, the renowned duo of composers Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan crafted an expansive emotional score featuring the anthemic orchestral compositions and contemporary Hollywood music production, reflecting the epic scale of this rich, sci-fi fantasy.

Wonderful soundtrack!
This is an excellent soundtrack and a must have if you're a collector of vinyl and a warhammer 40k fan like me! The game is one of the best 40K games out there and the music is perfect for it.

I Got Two of Them!
I know the soundtrack well, but what got me is that I actually had two discs in my case, both of them of the soundtrack. Guess it was a packaging error.

Space Marine
While I played Space Marine I also got a taste of the background music while progressing through the game. When I found out there was a soundtrack available as well it interested me. Once I popped in the player I sat through start to finish. The music has the flavor of an epic with a gritty and gothic lilt that keeps your ears glued to the speakers. Definitely would recommend!!

Good soundtrack, specially for the warhammer 40000 followers!
Good soundtrack, specially for the warhammer 40000 followers!I have been a warhammer 40000 follower, so my review is not very objective. I usually play this music when painting figures, and I really enjoy it. It also remember me the game. For me is a "must have" product. Specially recomended the last track.

Amazing theme!
I listen to this cd in loop all day while I'm working and it is just amazing. The main theme is great, lots of action and sends you on alien planet a la Alien. Very dark soundtrack.I love how "Titus' theme" builds up, sounds like Two Steps from Hell cds.My favorite is track 3, "Prelude to war".I've never played the game but I expect some kind of Gears of War style of gameplay.

One Of The Best Video Game Scores Out There
Velasco and Dikiciyan are no strangers to video games. Velasco himself has composed music for God Of War 3, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and many more. Dikiciyan has done Borderlands and has co-composed with Velasco on a handful of games. So, this is not new territory for either composer. The result is an extremely fine tuned action score with a huge scope. The theme is ever so simple, but the sound is extremely grand. The approach and execution is excellent; the result is a rousing action score worth revisiting again and again. Now, the second you hear the first few track you may be like "well, that sort of sounds like the Star Trek trailer". Yes, some of the arrangements are extremely similar to "Freedom Fighters" by Two Steps From Hell, but we slowly move away from that into some wonderful tracks that lead us into an intriguing universe. The music is not a synth bashing score with a screeching choir, which seems to be all the rage these days in action games. Some of the tracks are quite elegant as they lead us into the more action heavy tracks. The fact that this is an orchestral score really brings to mind Star Wars and other grand orchestral soundtracks. The music is constantly engaging and never lets go of the listener. Medal Of Honor fans will love the orchestral approach as it's the same one that Giacchino took. There is some electronics that act as an undercurrent, but they never take over. Quite honestly, I was shocked at how good this score was. The music is heroic, emotional, grand and is some of the best video game music I've heard. If you can move past the fact that the big hero motif sounds like "Freedom Fighters" then you will enjoy this amazing score. This is the best Velasco and Dikiciyan have done. Space Marine sits with Metal Gear Solid, Medal Of Honor, Crysis 2, Final Fantasy and Uncharted as some of the best game music ever composed. This is fantastic and you shouldn't wait to dive in.

turn it up loud ;)
Turn up the bass on this one because it makes you feel really part of the action. The soundtrack is hard-hitting and gritty. It basically does what it says on the tin (or in this case, CD sleeve). It's a Space Marine soundtrack and this guy's really hit the nail on the head with the music. You don't even need to know about the game to know what the tracks represent.

Pulse pounding soundtrack, will make you feel unstoppable.
What can I say about this epic offering? Not only will each track remind you tense and fierce moments in the game, but the music will transport you to the world of Warhammer 40,000. Right from the start, the track "Prelude" and "Titus' Theme" will lure back images of the destroyed Imperial vessel drifting through space, the data logs that examine the situation, seeking the best possible course of action. The tracks that stand out to me are the "Whispers of the Dead" & "The Meat Grinder" both a haunting and eerie score that secures the unease brought in by the forces of Chaos. Tracks like the "Blood Ravens" and "Titan" & "Heart of Darkness" are amazing pieces of powerful, inspiring art. You should feel like an unstoppable force after battling these songs with your ears. Finally "Legions of Chaos" will instill within you the understanding of the dark powers and with it, a keen and cautious mindset. Ready for any challenge you will face in the day!Don't hesitate to pick up this album!

A wonderful orchestral / synth soundtrack - Space Marine is a great action romp from start to finish
The demand for orchestral/electronic scores for new games continues to increase, and this can only be a good thing for fans of scores for TV, cinema and games. The composers, Sascha Dikiciyan & Cris Velasco are not names that I am familiar with. But don't let their obscurity put you off - this score contains some wonderful orchestral writing and synth elements that make this a highly enjoyable listen. The main theme for the album is first highlighted in "Titus' Theme" which is simply wonderful. This is reprised several times over the duration of the album and forms a key backbone of the score. My favourite track has to be the finale "A Hero's Legacy" - this sounds like a suite to end the album and contains the best statement of Titus' Theme, with the orchestra sounding absolutely bombastic. Towards the end of the penultimate track, "Heresy", there is also a great somber version of this theme with some added punch with of the use of a choir to add a bit of extra depth. The choir is used sparingly on the album, but when it does appear I think it is very effective. I won't go into all of the other tracks - needless to say they are all action based and the album as a whole has a very consistent feel with the quality of the tracks remaining high throughout. The score runs for 50 minutes and this is a fairly short release. Whether it contains all the music as heard in the game, I don't know. However, I thought this was a good length and the variety of tracks was good both in style and duration. From a sound production perspective, the mixing is very crisp and sounds great. The only criticism (and this is surely due to financial constraints), is that at times the orchestra does sound fairly small. That said, the combination of the synth elements and the orchestra is brilliant and I believe that given the financial constraints, the composers and production screw couldn't have done a better job.Overall, Space Marine is a perfect example that game scores should not be overlooked. Everything is here that makes up a good score - a strong (and in my opinion fairly catchy) theme, nice orchestrations and good use of synths. On first glance, it might not grab your attention as the composers are not well know and this is a niche musical taste, but for anyone that enjoys film/tv scores, this will be right up your street. Specific tracks that are essential are Titus' Theme and A Hero's Legacy, but I recommend the whole album so this score can be enjoyed in full.

Cris Velasco & Sascha Dikiciyan bring the WH40K universe to life with music
The soundtrack is a great companion to a great game, especially for anyone who's a fan of the WH40K universe. In about 50+ minutes, Velasco and Dikiciyan bring forth a sonic assault that works equally as well when listening to it stand-alone as it does in the game. The pieces are fully orchestral compositions, with and added touch of synths here and there. The main motifs are catchy and epic, and interwoven throughout for the duration of the score. The most important thing is that as a whole the score is offering just enough variety to keep you engaged at all times, but also enough familiarity of motifs to make it uniform and coherent. Also, for what it's worth, I do listen to a LOT of soundtracks, to film / anime scores and video-game scores from composers all over the globe. This is the first score in my life I bought straight away. In terms of composition and originality, it's not the best I've ever heard, but it just has that something... whatever "something" is.My favorite pieces: Titus' Theme, Valkyrie Run, A Hero's Legacy.

from your correspondent somewhere in the outer rim worlds
This is a first rate soundtrack for sci-fi games or painting miniature to. Games Workshop have always employed soundtrack composers who understand the genre and "Space Marines" is no exception. If there is "only war" you now have some tunes to whistle as you hunt down the Emperors enemies.

Great game, better OST
Amazing music, vibrant and powerfull. It's really meet and mix with the game. In fact, you can use later on, like in the workout of the gym, "Valkiria Run" it's special in that.
