Meinl CymbalsByzance Traditional Polyphonic Ride Cymbal (B21POR)

I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. The cymbal definitely has a unique sound. It is generally very dark and dry. There is bright stick definition with a lot of dark wash. The bell is huge and complementary to the overall sound of the cymbal. This ride is somewhat crashable but it requires some effort. For such a dark cymbal, it is on the heavier side. Even though it's has 6 rivets, the sizzle is not overbearing and sits nicely over the low tones produces by the cymbal. The ride is from Meinl's Jazz line which implies that the cymbal would be fitting for jazz music which I think it is. However, there is nothing vintage or old-school sounding about this cymbal. The Nuance Ride will definitely add some unconventional and modern color to your setup.

Cymbal arrived quickly and in perfect shape / this cymbal is a thing of beauty and sounds amazing so far - I live in an apt so I have to time when I can play based on where the neighbors are . Eventually I'll have the green light to really play this thing loudly but till then I've been playing it gently and that's a far as I've got - will wake it up soon - sorry I can't describe the product more thoroughly rite now ----/ service and delivery were great ..

Perfect exactly what I was looking for

This ride is pretty amazing. The raw bell gives a dryer and washy ping that is pretty low volume. Crashes very well.

This is the last Meinl I attempt to buy. Mike Johnston did a fantastic job selling this cymbal. The cymbal in the video looked fantastic, well built with a dry yet stone like texture. The cymbal I received was brassy, shiny and cheap looking. I wasn't a joy to play (like they sell it on the video) it didn't sound or play anything like that. I have old noname cymbals that play better.The cymbal was also shipped in a thin plastic bag in a huge box. It was bouncing around like a hotdog in a hallway. No packing was provided to keep the edges from banging around during shipping.If their cymbals were half as good as the marketing wank, they might be worth buying. I have a few on my kit and I am less happy with them every day.

Best ride crash ever!

It's definitely an awesome ride. But beware of the overly positive reviews here. Meinl is trading free percussion accessories for positive reviews on Amazon.

This is the most versatile ride I have ever played. The feel and sound of it is amazing. I love how you can crash on it and once your done the sound does not linger. I can't say anything but good reviews. The bell sounds perfect to, not to pignut but just right.
