NEWTECH 2 Wire Ceiling Fan Capacitor for NEW TECH CBB61 4.5uf 50/60Hz 250VAC

Q: I have a 2 wire ceiling fan capacitor labled 5 uf +5% 300vac 50/60hz max temp +85c. do i need an exact match or can i sub one with different ratings?

The uf rating could prod range from 4.7-5uf. Working voltage must not be less. Higher vac is ok, but may be larger.

Q: I have a hunter fan that flashes the lights. Its capacitor is rated at 4.5 uf, 100 vac with two wires (red & white). Will this 250 vac cap work?

Yes. You can always go higher in working voltage never lower. This cap is only for starting motor and has nothing to do with lights. Make sure bulbs are seated firmly in sockets. Are you using LED lights? If you have a dimmer is it rated for LED?

Q: Two questions. 1) Does this have a screw mount on the bottom? 2) The capacitor I have is 4uf instead of 4.5uf - will it still work?

1)No and 2)The rule of thumb is not to exceed the microfarad rating by 10%. In this case it would most likely work as long as the voltage rating is the same or higher than the original.

if it is 50- 60 Hz. it should work

Exact replacement. Worked as expected.

Exact replacement. Worked as expected, and saved me buying a whole new fan. Hunter only offered the whole center cap with both caps and switched all wired up, EXCEPT, they no longer sell it. I bought both caps, not knowing which was bad. ( I have two identical fans, installed at the same time. One always ran much slower. I replaced both caps in the slower one. Fixed.) You will need wire nuts or crimp terminals to complete installation.

It did not work for the ceiling fan I was trying to repair. I bought this to replace a 3-wire that is no longer made. It was worth a shot nothing wrong with the product itself that I know of

they work great the reason why the first set went out was ...

Bought these after both my fans went out. they work great the reason why the first set went out was that i hooked them up 220v, as i thoght that the fact that these where rated 220v. However after i took the fan appart the motor sticker said 110v!!!! So far there have met my expectations.

Fabulous Purchase - Less Expensive Than Buying a New Ceiling Fan
