CueStix QHDS DeadStroke Cue Holder

Very cool design, but the openings between the fingers make it so that the cues bang against the edge of a table without any padding. Definitely not the end of the world, but it makes this more of a decorative piece than one which offers the best protection for your cues.

First of all - it is very delicate. It's not made of plastic, it appears to be either ceramic or something like that, but as soon as it fell off the table and onto the floor, the arm and thumb broke off. The thumb shattered, but I was able to glue the arm back onto it. I will most likely glue the entire thing to my hard case and just have it as a conversation piece.As far as holding the cue - it does not have any type of stopper on it, so the cue stick will actually rest on the table. The fingers simply keep the cue from slide and falling down. So if the table is rough, there is a chance you could scratch the cue. Even though the chance is small, I still rather not have my cue against the table itself.If you get tricky (like I did) and glue a stopped underneath to keep your cues from touching the table, you will find they seem to slip between the fingers and almost lock into place.The underside of the hand came with a sheet of something sticky to keep it from sliding around the table, however that started to peel the first night, and was gone by the second.It's also too big to fit in a 2x2 case - well, not now that it's thumbless! But, when it had all it's digits, it was too wide to fit.So, it got two stars because it is cool, and people do talk about it a lot, and it's going to be awesome glued to the hard case...but all in all, I'm going to have to go another way.

Looks good but is made out of plaster. Definitely a conversation piece and not a claw to take to the pool hall.
