You can get the same thing a couple of pounds cheaper without the splash guard topper, but they do tend to end up making whatever table/surface you put them on wet with the water splashing out. The splash guard is simple and effective and saves having to constantly dry up around it whilst in use.

Great, affordable mist maker for Halloween. Looked fantastic on the night. Without the splash guard you get way more mist with a fantastic billowing effect, but you also get a lot of water thrown around, which is fine if you've got it outside. With the splash guard there's fewer mist tendrils. There's still some droplets that get thrown out when using the splash guard, it doesn't stop it completely, but you can see from the images and video that they are vastly reduced. When it first arrived, it did cut out when it fell over in the cauldron. Removing it and placing it back in the water resolved the issue. On the night it also cut out but it had not fallen over and the water level was still plenty high enough, so I don't know what caused the issue. Removing and placing it back in the water resolved the issue once again though. It's perhaps not the most robust thing in light of this. Hopefully it's not a faulty one. So far so good, but only time will tell.

Bought this in 2020 but forgot to get a video! I was looking for something to be able to create a cauldron for Halloween and after researching this seemed to tick all boxes as reading reviews a guard was advised with a mist maker to prevent splashing. As you can see it works a treat! I popped a small ceramic pot underneath the mist maker as the cauldron I bought separately was a little deep and the mist wasn’t quite flowing over the top of the cauldron but the ceramic pot gave me the height needed to overcome this. This is the second year using this and it really works well! Highly recommend this product!

Great little piece of equipment for the price. My kids loved it, we found you got a better effect with the splash guard off as it looks like it's bubbling. We would 100% recommend

I bought this for Halloween to make mist for a Halloween pot. When I tried it, it worked ok but not amazing. I was expecting more mist to spill out but it was minimal. You probably need to have the right conditions outside for it to work properly.

Bought this mist maker for Halloween rather than a terrarium, and it looks like will do the job well. Colours change and it produces a good amount of mist, looked effective in a bowl. It sounds quiet too so I think the reviewer with a noisy one was unlucky and perhaps had a faulty one. It does splash a lot, some of which gets caught by the splash guard but not all, so that's something you might want to take into consideration. Overall I'm happy and my daughter was delighted!

I wanted this for my Halloween display this year and it certainly hasn't disappointed. Lots of lovely billowing steam flowing from my cauldron. I prefer it without the splash guard and it makes the whole thing look authentic.

Brought this to use in a cauldron for an outside Halloween decoration, set it up last night to see how it works it took a while for the smoke to accumulate I left it on for only 45 minutes when I went to bring it back inside the top of splash guard has melted 🙄🙄 I am not amused

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality and its performance as it is not the most expensive. The instructions are kind of non existant but it’s rather easily assembled. Only 3 parts to it. Most important thing is written and that is that it needs at least 3cm (roughly an inch) of water to function. Also pleasantly surprised that it will not turn on if there isn’t enough water and I suspect it will also shut off if the water becomes too low. I didn’t try it so don’t take my word for it. It will work without the little top but I suspect it will spittle even more as it splashes a little even with it. Included a short video with both in light or darkness what it looks like when it’s working.

Bought this to make a witches cauldron decoration for Halloween. I put it into the cauldron and filled the pot with water per the directions, but the "smoke" wouldn't rise up out of the cauldron. So I ended up putting a bowl upside down inside the bucket, set the fogger on the bowl, and filled with water to where it reached the fogger. Worked like a charm!! It was just a s.all display, but it served it's purpose! Would not fill a room with smoke, you would need a bigger fogger for that effect. CAUTION: this fogger spits water! It might be because of how high to the top of the bucket I had to put it, but just be warned it has the potential to damage anything close to it or what it sits on! I had mine outside so it wasn't a deal breaker for me. The lighting effect was pretty cool, and it was bright enough to glow into the smoke and make it look spooky. Good product, does what is advertised.

I honestly don't know what others are complaining about. Assembled splash guard with common sense and logic, NO instructions and, nothing broke because I took CARE and assembled the pieces GENTLY (didn't force anything and PATIENTLY put it together); took me less than 30 seconds with arthritic hands! There's NO "splashing everywhere" as other reviews claim. This is meant to be a HUMIDIFIER with a low lying mist, NOT a vapourizer which generates VAPOUR with HEAT so of course when the atomized water touches a surface the water stays there. That's what's around your bowls negative reviewers and complainers; it's NOT splashing. I do wish I had control of the LEDs but, other than that it works perfectly, generates a great effect and, a good amount of "fog". It does exactly what it says it does!
