I bought this (and another that uses the cup holder as phone stand) a for a trip to Europe. In the past, I rented cars that didn't have an easy place to display my phone for maps. The last car I rented didn't have a spot for a cup holder so I used this. The dashboard was not level but this holder worked great. It adapted to the dashboard and stayed put for my trip!

It works well, but your phone get overheated being on the dash

I bought this for my Garmin in prep for a trip. Ended up using it for my phone and it worked great. It was nice to be able to pull it off and reposition it without damaging it or my dash.

Love this car cell phone holder. I travel a lot and it comes apart and is easy to pack. It doesn’t move around while I’m driving. It also doesn’t damage vents. Perfect for travelers.

This is really only stable if you use it horizontally. Otherwise, it has solved a long-standing problem for us in our Mazda. The sticky stuff really sticks

This is made of a flexible rubber material, which is fine for the base. It does stick to the dash without a problem. However, the little legs that hold the GPS are also flexible so if you have to stop suddenly or make a sharp turn, everything goes flying. I'm going to try to crazy glue the legs in place on the base but I doubt that will hold the weight of the GPS in a sudden stop.
