Game Changer
I had always been squeamish about the idea of menstrual cups but anxiety about an overnight work event coupled with a super heavy flow led me to finally giving them a shot at 34 years old. I had been a pad user up until this point and as tampons don't work for me due to a low cervix, I had wrong assumed that cups would be the same. I chose the larger size and it was an absolute game changer. There was definitely a learning curve, it took me several goes of inserting and removing to get there but I did. After I inserted it for the first time, I had some trouble and did the classic panic that I wouldn't be able to get it out. The seal was strong and it took a few goes before I was fully comfortable reaching in to break it. As someone who has never given birth, I also found the final moments of removal a little painful but bearable. For me, the cup sat with the base just at the entrance to my vagina so with a gentle push from my pelvic floor, it brought it down enough for me to grip and I found I didnt need to use the stem at all. I worried about the cup spilling on removal but again, this was not an issue. Generally, the cup was comfortable. I did have painful cramps this cycle but it would be hard to size of the cup influenced this at all. I could feel the stem as the cup sat low for me so I would be tempted to trim the stem. Capacity wise, I have a heavy flow so I worried that the cup would overflow or leak but this didn't happen. I changed the cup 4 times a day at my heaviest, on waking, at lunch, when I got home from work and before bed and it would be about half full. Overall, I would say that I wished I'd have made the change from pads to a cup earlier. It was infinitely more comfortable than using pads and was wonderful not to have to worry about flooding as I usually do due to my heavy flow. I did find that I had to wear some extra protection as there would be a little residual blood after each changing but I am now planning on buying some reusable pads to deal with this. The added bonus of knowing you're not contributing to environmental damage is also wonderful. Happy first time user, very happy I gave it a go!

I'm a total convert
After a while of hesitating, I decided to give cups a try, so this was my first cup. It's brilliantโcompared to tampons, it is more comfortable, more convenient, and I feel more confident about avoiding leaks. I was apprehensive about insertion and removal, but found the whole process easier than expected. I find the seal is created very easily once the cup is in place. Removal can be a bit tough at first: I found I had to 'bear down' to bring the cup further in reach, and then it's simply a matter of pinching to break the seal, after which it should come out easily. Do not simply tug on the stem without breaking the seal!Using a cup is less drying than tampons, you have to carry only one small thing in your bag, and there's no guesswork about which absorbancy you need. I also found out that cups cary a much lower risk of TSS. Of course, being reusuable, it is also better for the environment, as well as saving you money. I am kicking myself for not trying it sooner.I started using the cup towards the end of my period, when it was lighter. I think this helped me get used to using it with less risk of mess, so would recommend this to any others just trying it out for the first time.

Sustainable and forgettable
I am all for sustainable period products and this has lasted me so long. It has unfortunately stained but as long as it's clean who cares. It did smell terrible at one point but leave it out in the sun for a few days and it goes. It's super easy to put in, you may look a little weird doing a few squats to make it pop but once in it lasts all day, and then you can just empty it and go again with minimal leakage. Way better than tampons or pads, small and portable, cheaper in the long run, better for the environment. Its less comfortable than pads or period pants, leaks slightly more than period pants especially if not done correctly, but there's much less smell than period pants. Definitely a good purchase.

Absolute Game changer - stick with it
Bought this to try and do my bit for sustainability however, its been amazing for changing how I manage my period!! This product is amazing once you've learnt how to get it to seal but it does take a little bit of getting used to which for me took a couple of days/tries. At the beginning its very scary & you think it's going to be lost forever however just relaxing makes life so easy. It means you can go out, move, swim, dance, whatever you want, without fear and you can do that all day realistically without having to fill your bag with supplies and always be thinking of what time it is. Fantastic product. I've only used it one cycle so far and already think I've mastered it, however from my experience it can be a little messy & you just need to get used to the sight of blood and some on your hands etc. I wouldn't go back to any other product now. Feels amazing - almost like you don't even have your period.

Definitely worth getting and the Lena team are beyond helpful!
I first bought the small Lena cup, as it was my first time using a period cup. The cup was easy to put in and the instructions that came with the product were really useful.I struggled the first couple of times removing the cup, but that was purely because it was the first few times of trying. After a couple of removals, it was really easy to do.Unfortunately though, my periods were too heavy for the small cup, as I had to keep on emptying it every 2-3 hours, so I emailed the Lena team and asked if it were possible to ship me the larger cup, as I was leaking with the small cup. They were so helpful and just asked a bit more about the reason behind why I felt I needed the larger size and shipped me the large Lena cup no problem (and no additional charge). The large Lena cup was just as easy to put in and remove as the small cup. I had no leaks with the large cup and haven't needed to empty it nearly as often.I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to try a period cup for the first time, or to change from the one they're currently using. The Lena team are also really, really helpful with any personal queries you may have.I also have the coil fitted and have had no problems with the period cups in regards to that either. I had the coil for over 6 months before trying a period cup.Hope this is useful for someone :)

Still can't make it work
Nice material, feels good quality. Probably really good product for some who can figure out how to use properly. Also quite hard to get out, but again that might just be me.

It works! Had it sussed almost straight away!
Very impressed. I find to relax as much as possible all along the way at each point is key!I use dove soap and rinse well. Also bought an electric steamer to sterilise.Nobody mentioned where I was reading up anywhere!!! the pain/shock you get when taking it out!!!Also was a bit uncomfortable the first day/night I almost gave up on it :-( so glad I didnโt and gave it another days trial as day 2 was so much better! I found the more in it was the less pain/uncomfortable I got.Iโm in my 49s 1 Caesarian. I got the small. I could have got the mini. Not sure if I can keep on with the uncomfortable feeling when removing? Might have to change to a miniโฆ. Iโve still give 5***** s as this has nothing to do with the product it is me :-)Brilliant thing to use.I would definitely recommend but I would not recommend leaving it in for any longer than 24 hours!!! Another thing I didnโt read anywhere. As you would almost certainly be asking to get into trouble! Keep it clean and regularly aired to clean and youโll be fine!Love it !!! So much better than the old way we have been living for years!!! :-)

Good quality, comfortable cup. Would recommend.
Really love this cup. I have a low cervix and it sits inside all my cups as it is dangly, with this cup it is the nice tulip shape so there is the extra lip to keep it in place. I have had no leaks even on my heaviest days, I do have to change it more often than I would like on my heavy days, but on a light day I can leave it all day and not even notice it is there. It is firm enough to get a good comfortable position inside and stay there, plus itโs harder to spill it when you take it out because it is firm. Not too firm that it pushed the bladder etc.The silicone is much better than TPE cups I have previously used. The air holes are slanted and easy to clean, one rinse gets them clean. The packaging is nice and the bag is good quality compared to others I have had.Overall I would recommend this cup to anyone. I have used meluna shorty and the TPE wore out quick and became more oval than round and started to leak, it was good at first. I have also used a moon cup uk, which pushed against my bladder sometimes and was too large. Finally, I have used a femmycycle for low cervix, which I am pretty sure caused damage and elongation to my cervix due to the extreme suction. But this Lena cup is comfortable and quality compared to all of these.

The best ever!!!!!
The learning curve is a bit hard. And it's not that soft and flexible. Great product, great packaging and great delivery. Thanks Lena and Amazon.

First I tried-Brilliant
Tried this cup after doing a quiz on PeriodNirvana.com on what cup I should try out for my first one. Highly recommend the site if you're trying to choose your first cup, it has a lot of great info to help you make an informed choice. Oh, and it also has tutorials on how to bend/fold your cup to insert it comfortably. The cup fits perfectly. I could trim the stem a little bit but honestly my cervix moves up and down a lot so it's not really worth the effort. It's not uncomfortable even with the stem jutting a little bit out when my cervix is lower, since the cup stem is so bendable, soft, and has the rounded tip.Super easy to clean, including the suction holes at the top.Comes with a nice little cloth bag to store it in once you clean it and in between periods. The small held up wonderfully on even my heavier days where I had to empty it 3-4 times in the day. It was great not having to worry about my pad leaking onto clothing.Currently, I still wear one of my regular pads when I wear the cup, just as a insurance in case it does leak (iโve only used the cup for two periods so far), but Iโm not having to replace my pad multiple times a day. This is definitely going to save me money, for sure. All in all, great product that works well.

Disappointed at first...now amazed!
I have been using the Diva cup for about a year and a half, but I thought it might be time for a change, so I looked around to try to find a good cup. I chose the LENA cup because I'm physically present in California at the moment (though I live in Canada) so this seemed like a good local option, because I love the way the company carries itself, because it was almost half the "retail price" when I ordered it, and because I wanted to try something totally different from the Diva. I ordered the LENA small. I had high expectations of it, but at first, I was disappointed: on my heaviest day (2nd day), it leaked. That was also the day when I received an email from LENA, telling me that by then I should've had time to try it, and to not hesitate to contact them with any question or issue. So I contacted them, telling them that it leaked and trying to find what the problem was. Emily got in touch with me, and she was extremely friendly and helpful. She asked me if my flow was heavy, and a few other questions, to try to determine if the LENA large could be a better fit for me. She said that she would gladly send me the LENA large (at no additional cost!), and I received it within 3 business day, at the adress where I'm currently staying in California. I haven't tried the large version yet, but after the 2nd day of my period (when I switched back to Diva cup for the day), I re-switched to the LENA small and it worked great for the rest of my period, without leaking. It's also very comfortable (I didn't feel it at all) and very easy to clean, easier to clean than my Diva cup because the holes have a better, more practical design. I also don't have any problem or difficulty when going to the toilet while wearing my LENA cup, contrary to my Diva cup which sometimes made it harder for me, and I had to take it out everytime. I didn't have to take out my LENA cup everytime I was using the toilet.I think the small cup leaked because it was my heaviest day, because I didn't insert it properly, or maybe both (although it only leaked a little bit, so I think it's just because the cup was full since that's when my flow is heavy). Either way it worked perfectly afterwards, so I'll see how it goes in my future periods and might keep my LENA large for my heavy flow days or, if I see that I don't need it, gift it to another woman so she can make the change to a reusable menstrual alternative. I'm so glad I bought this cup while staying in California, as they don't ship in Canada where I live. I wish they did, and I wish they will ship in Canada in the future! I recommend this cup to any woman looking to make the change to a menstrual cup, or to change from another menstrual cup. As compared to the Diva cup (the only other cup I've tried), it opens more easily once inside, is easier to clean and doesn't bother me at all when to use the toilet. I also want to say that LENA has an *outstanding* customer service, I was very impressed and I like how Emily was both personal and professional in her answers. So finally, the only 2 things I wish LENA would do is ship to Canada and offer other colors than pink for the cup. I personally don't like pink too much and would prefer if I could have a transparent LENA cup. Everything else about the product and the company itself is more than satisfying for me.
