Order the right wheels & it’s fixed!!
The trickiest part of replacing suitcase wheels is choosing the right replacement! I lost a wheel to the airlines, and while they did give me a voucher to order a new suitcase, I didn’t like the new one as well, so I decided to see if I could replace the wheel. I measured the wheels and the holes where the wheel attached inside the suitcase, but was still not 100% sure I had the right replacement set. Ultimately, I ordered a set with what looked like the same pattern of attachment screws but a different size wheel. Since I planned to replace all four wheels, wheel size was not that big a deal. That’s definitely the way to go, it turns out. When the new set of luggage wheels (finally) arrived from China, I unscrewed the old wheels and screwed on the new ones. My suitcase is on the road again, and this solution was much less expensive than trying to replace my XL hard shell. It was well worth a bit of patience with the delivery from overseas.
