Learning How to deal with Sensory Processing Disorders
Everyone who has a Sensory Processing Disorder should read this book by Chynna T. Laird. This is a great learning tool book to teach elementary children why loud noises will bother them, touching, smells, and even being outside in the sunshine. This book was inspired by the author's daughter, Jaime, who struggles with this disease. The author wants to show that this disorder is to help others, and helps those that do not understand it. A great therapist can help the parents and child with teaching tools to cope with Sensory Processing Disorder. I use to cut hair and I have personally had to deal with this type of disorder. It's something you don't normally see, but it takes a special parent to help the stylist, so I was able to help do a great haircut. More books need to be written about Sensory Processing Disorder for teenagers as well. Bravo for a well written educational book! © 2016 Jackie Paulson

Great for understanding
My daughter has SPD and while she liked the book it made her cry because the main character had to endure so much. It was hard for her to live vicariously through the book when she does it every day.

Super helpful
Our son with SPD really identified with this book and was able to vocalize better with us about how he was feeling. This is a great story and way to bridge and understand what our kids with SPD deal with

thank you
Thank you , what a wonderful book. I cried because I felt I was hearing some of these things from my own child. I got the kindle version but will now order a hard copy so I can share with others. My son is not extreme but when I think of the indicators I missed I feel sad. This book is wonderful.

Good Educational Read for my Little Ones
I love this book because of the illustrations and it gave my son someone to identify with!! It was also educational for my other kiddos. My son is autistic and he was excited to pick up the book. As a family we are pleased!!!

If you have a child with SPD- this is the book for you!
This book REALLY helps the child to discuss their SPD and a who new level so that others in their live can understand without being too invasive. This, by far, is the best children's book on PSD out there. A must have for your shelf.

Bought this for my son to read
My son has some SPD issues and I thought this might help him to understand what is going on with him, but not really it just explains that he is different, but not really. The why's and how's of his SPD.

Not a seeker book :) but still a good read
It's not like my child's SPD he's more of a seeker but it's a start showing him everyone has their quirks.
