Nice lamp upgrade, for much less than replacing the lamp.
This lamp had a flaky, mostly-broken touch switch on it. I couldn't use it with a smart outlet because its default setting was OFF when plugging it in, so turning on the outlet didn't turn on the light. It was also hard to turn on manually. When I finally found the right spot on the chassis to touch, it didn't remember my last brightness setting and came on full blast. Lame. Enter: this dimmer! I yanked the touch switch and controller PCB out completely, connected the 4 wires (+/- IN from the power cable, +/- OUT to the light rings) to the terminals on this dimmer, and stuck it to the lamp with a double sided adhesive pad. Bada-bing bada-boom! Now the light comes on to wherever I last physically set the knob as soon as I turn on the smart outlet. The knob is a great size to be easy to use without fumbling around whenever I do want to adjust it, and now I have continuous dimming from zero to 100%, instead of 3 janky settings. $12 to upgrade/revive an otherwise nice lamp. I'm no electrician, but it was a super easy mod. The terminals are stable and just big enough to be easy to work with, the knob feels solid and turns smooth, light doesn't flicker, and the box is nice and light for easy mounting. Easy-peasy.

effective but note this
Good quality item with easy to wire terminals. The adjustability is great and handles a heavy load up to 30 amps. I'm using it to light some off road LED pod light but I do not have any spec on the lights (typical China stuff :( ). There is one BIG thing to note depending how you use this dimmer. It varies the negative side of the circuit. The application I utilized made this a challenge trying to use it in a HI/LOW light circuit. I preset the dimmer to be set for a dimmed lights on "low beam" switch mode. In "high beam" switch mode bypasses the dimmer and applies the -12v to the lights. The HI/LOW switch was designed to switch the +12 dc for the LED switch status; I had to get creative to make it work. If you just use as a LED dimmer, no issues, it will work great.

Great so far, working exactly as I planned
Purchased two and connected them to 2 branches of a 24v 400 watt power supply. One branch has a reported 120 watts of 24v LEDs, the other has 2, 120 watt lines of the same LEDs. Both branches reach full brightness with the dimmers at about 75% on the dial. They dim down significantly and smoothly all the way to about the last 15% on the dials and I'd say about about 15% brightness from max as well, before shutting off. I see no flicker at any setting. Both dimmers are working the same to my eye. The wiring to each branch of LEDs is not equivalent, probably 10, 20, and 30 feet respectively from the dimmers with another 4 feet back to the power supply, but heavy gauge wire throughout. So far this set-up is working perfectly for me. I've had this running at about 50% for a good 2 hours, and full for shorter periods, and felt no heat from the dimmers and dead silent. Certainly recommended right now. I'll update if anything fails in the future.

Good enough
Exactly what it said it was

12 V too bright, this works great
have several of these installed on various lighting setups around the house. they work well for the money, mind that toward the lower end of the spectrum (could be due to the LED strips themselves), they cutoff the lights before the zero mark on the dial, but for $10 or so, you get pretty good control and can match other light strips intensity. I specifically used them to match kick panel lighting to under cabinet lighting in the kitchen, and we use them for LED soffit lighting on the exterior of the house (module is located inside our utility room) where we dim and brighten for events regularly.

It doesn't dial down to zero volts... as advertised
I bought this item to dim down the Hinkley step lights we'd purchased for our front and back porches. They're so bright that airplanes were confusing them w/ runway lights. This looked to be the perfect solution BUT it doesn't work! My voltmeter indicates that the voltage lowers to about 6 volts which, I'm told with LED lights, is not necessarilly low enough to dim them... it needs to lower to the advertised "0" volts which this dimmer does not do. Looks good; installs easily enough; but doesn't do the job and/or, it's advertised capability of dimming to zero volts.

Works good enough
It's very sensitive. My LED's meet the specs but like others said, voltage drops off towards the low end just past the dial's halfway point. Some dimming is better than no dimming, so three stars.

Very little heat generation.
worked well on 12v leds.

Good dimmer for cob led strip.
Good dimmer used it to dim cob led strip , just put it between the driver / transformer and the lights , worked very well , they also have this with a remote control if required.
