Just tested out mounting today.....much easier to fit to saddle rails than comparable Zefal (straps were longer to work with) and clips/straps seemed much meatier than Zefal....but NOT yet used on trail so we'll have to see if either outperforms in the real mtb worl. I'd vote for the Topeak at this point though....

I procrastinated on getting ready for a bike packing trip and bought this last-minute. It worked flawlessly. 350 miles of rough trails, a full 24 hours of rain, and more pot holes than I can count. No issues whatsoever. My stuff stayed dry and secured the whole time.

I used this on a four day cycling trip in Florida. I carried all my clothes including some stuff in case of rain. I was just able to fit everything in so one needs to be strict about one’s packing list. The bag mounts well with plenty of wheel clearance but is prone to wobbling, especially when you get out of the saddle. All in all, given the price, I think it is a pretty good bag.

Be careful with the back tire rubbing a hole in the fabric... 😬

Great components! I felt the quality of this bag pulling it out of the box! Lots of roo., easy to mount.We had to return it because it didn't fit on out road bikes. (We have 700c tires and ride 51 cm frames, so we didn't have the clearance.)

Je reviens d'un 550 km sur route entièrement équipé avec la gamme Topeak. Le Backloader a bien fait le travail. Son design est efficace : le concept du « drybag » qu'on insère et retire rend son usage très convivial. J'ai subi une grosse averse, mais tout le contenu du sac est demeuré sec. Petite mise en garde, cependant : mieux vaut avoir un sac à l'avant pour équilibrer le poids sur le vélo. Je l'ai appris à mes dépens puisque mes rayons de roue arrière sont devenus très lâches et j'ai dû arrêter dans un magasin pour les faire ajuster, car le vélo était devenu inutilisable. J'ai un gros gabarit, mais je ne dépassais pourtant pas les limites des roues.Pour le retour, j'ai acheté un Frontloader 8L dans lequel j'ai inséré tous les objets lourds (ex. : accessoires de toilette et batterie externe) et cela a complètement transformé pour le mieux le comportement du vélo. Je n'avais plus que des vêtements à l'arrière. La valve pour enlever l'air du « drybag » est très utile pour la compression et facilite l'insertion de celui-ci dans le reste du Backloader. Mes deux seuls reproches sont que le sac tend à faire un bruit de frottement désagréable sur la tige de selle quand on roule, problème réglé par l'ajout d'un morceau de chambre à air à la tige. L'autre reproche est que forcément, le sac ballotte un peu lorsqu'on pédale debout sur le vélo, mais on peut s'y adapter en roulant. J'ai resserré à l'occasion les courroies sur le sac pour éviter ça. Au final, c'est un sac aérodynamique très logeable qui fait bien son travail, et ce, sans qu'il coûte les yeux de la tête. Il faut juste le remplir intelligemment (objets lourds au fond du sac, près de la tige). (vélo sur la photo = 62 cm).

Mehrere Touren nach Italien mit sämtlichem Equipment hat der Backloader perfekt seine Funktion erfüllt.Der Backloader hat die Fahrstabilität und das Fahrverhalten kaum beeinflusst. Kann ich wirklich nur empfehlen.

I ordered this saddle bag for a 200 miles bike ride over two days. The inner bag, water proof and with its pressure valve, is an excellent idea. I had used a similar bag (4x more expensive...) in the past with no inner bag and this is a very good way to get ready quickly in the morning. My ride also involved some level of rain. The inside of the outer bag was dry as a bone - and of course the clothes in the inner bag as well. Admittedly it wasn't torrential rain but I believe the quality is there. Only 4 stars as I think some side reflective material would be ideal for safety.

Well designed bag, you can pack a lot in tightly with the use of the valve on the inner dry bag, I use mine off-road for over 200 miles and it didn’t start drooping at all.
