Works, but not exactly perfect.
The product arrived on time and was packaged adequately. As others have pointed out there appears to be two version of this product. One that is silver in color (still coated) and another that is green in color. I received the silver colored one. After looking over the horrible (and I mean horrible) manual for a bit, I began to piece the trap together. I was forced to come here and look at the Amazon product pictures. They are far better than any of the black and white pictures in the manual. At this point I quickly noticed that I was missing a few simple parts. The front door (the part that flips down) was not attached and it was missing the small metal clips that hold it into place. I knew from other reviewers that these clips were cheap/junk so I was prepared for this. I used several zip-ties (some call these cable ties) to attach these part and then reinforced other parts of the cage with further zip-tie.I tested the trap several times and it works without issues. The mechanism trips properly and flips down into place fully. The retention clip above the entrance also snaps into place so that animal can not push it open after it has tripped.Had I not been prepared for these problems I would have been extremely upset and I would have likely given the product a 2 star rating. Thanks to other reviewers here I was able to make this cheaper product (40 dollars at the time of this review) work for my needs.

Best Trap I've bought
I love these traps! They are lightweight, easy to lug around, even with an angry feral cat who is heading to the vet for a neuter. They set up immediately, the trap door is simple and efficient. The back door needs some rethinking as the flimsy little chain does not hold up, it snaps off with the first good tug. I solved that issue by simply putting snap hooks on each side and one on the top for good measure. After spending my time and money trapping those little buggers, I don't want them getting out.It comes with a brace bar but there are no instructions as to where or how to set it. I just looked at the image and pushed. It holds. With only 2 small, easily fixable, complaints, I was in all, totally satisfied with my trap, to the point I ordered a second to use or loan out to get the feral cats caught and delivered to the vet for the trap, neuter, release program.Do 2 good things: get this trap and catch those cats and find a low cost neuter/spay clinic and take them in. Once neutered, they won't reproduce and can live their lives without that much impact on you and you will have done so much good.

Great as a transport for small to medium ferals
This trap has a significantly lower price than its nearest competitor, which is why I bought it to transport my rescued feral queen to and from the vet. Even after several years indoors, she has to be in a trap or transfer cage to go to the vet so that they can anesthetize her before anything else. She's a good kitty, but she's not big on non-consensual interaction. This trap does that job well. For actual tnr, it's plenty sturdy enough for most cats, so if you're setting traps and waiting on site, this will do the job. However, if you are trapping in an area that has other wildlife, you might want to spring for the more expensive trap. This one will not hold up to a raccoon or even an angry opossum (they don't all play dead).

Great at catching animals, not so much with the keeping them in....
When I first took this item out of the box and set it up, I was thrilled that it seemed much bigger and sturdier than others I had seen for sale. One of the issues is that there are several key metal "straps" that hold the door in place once it falls and those little straps are very thin and both broke within the first & second "catch". I was able to rig it up again with heavy duty metal clips I had on hand, but no matter what I do, the pesky raccoon that has been my nemesis for the last two months keeps getting in, getting the food, and getting back out. (You can actually see where he escaped usually by the fur he leaves behind or where the door is bent.) So far he's been trapped six times and now I guess he's getting too fat from all the food he's stolen and lazy, so now he just lifts up the trap or bangs it around until the food falls out of it. The only thing I've actually managed to catch that I had to let out of it was a very embarrassed barn cat. Sigh....

Shouldn't of had to engineer a fix like I did.
This trap appears to be a good product once you get past the horrible images, text, and instructions in their guide. Once setup, it looks like it should work well..... However, they definatly skimped on some engineering specs when building this product. We have a cat that comes around our backyard and has already attacked our cat and dog. After over $200 in vet bills I decided I was going to trap the cat and move it somewhere else. I set the trap up and had it in the area where he has been coming. After a few days with nothing, I finally woke up this morning and found him inside trying to escape. He was ramming the trap door end and trying to squeeze through. When I went outside, he saw me and rammed the door so hard it broke off two of the metal retaining clips and he sqeezed through and escaped. Now, this was a 8-10pd cat...imagine if I were a raccoon or something more harmfull. After adding 10 Zip Ties and additaionl clips I feel it is finally able to hold the cat (if it comes around again).Again, I shouldn't have to engineer a fix to a new product just to get it to work.

not ment for racoons
This trap is probably great for small critters like squirrels and such, but racoons will tear it to shreds. The first time I used it (and did trap a medium sized racoon) the foot plate was completely torn off and bent like paper and spring bar bent in half like a piece of spaghetti. It did manage to hold the racoon, but I had to spend an hour bending the pieces back into shape to try to use it again.

Caught 5 stray cats and 2 possoms!
Overall the quality was quite sturdy. This cage works well if you are handy because it needs adjustments right out of the box (hence for the 4 stars). After it was assembled, the hook was too loose and the trap door won't stay open. I used a plier to bend the door hook a bit until it latches open but not too over bended that the trap door stayed open forever. Caught 5 cats and 2 possoms (not a pleasant scene) within a month. Other cats finally got smarter and started walking away from the cage, darn!
