Stir or shake the can before using. 2. Apply with a brush, lambswool applicator, cloth roller or spray gun. 24 hours dry time between coats. 3. For the first coat, apply a heavy, wet film and allow to penetrate for 30-60 minutes. 4. Wipe off excess and allow to dry for 24 hours. 5. Sand lightly with 220-grit sandpaper and remove dust. 6. Apply second coat and allow to dry for 24 hours. 7. For additional coats, repeat steps 5 and 6. 8. Maintain with mild soap and water. Review: Quality product - I enjoyed using this product. I did some of the work outside. Some I did in the garage but vented. It smells for as long as it takes to cure. Pretty much dissipates within 48 hours. It has a woody odor not chemical smell so you should be able to tolerate it. **Q: Does this also stain the wood** A: This product is NOT a stain. However it does add an amber color to your wood. A previous comment described it as “dipped in honey” which is a great description! **Q: Is this food safe? I want a water-proof surface on a cutting board** A: It is good safe once it cures. You may not want to cut directly on the board though with this product as you will cut the hard finish you’ve put on. **Q: Can I put this on painted wood?** A: I'm not sure.
