amika curl corps defining cream, 200ml

I have curly, wavy hair. However, it’s only been over the last few years that I’ve gone with it (at least since I was a toddler!) I had ReCurl recommended by a stylist; it was so heavy that it actually straightened my curls. For the last several months I’ve put nothing on my hair. The curls were there but they went where they wanted, mostly in my face. I researched a better solution & repeatedly found this one at the top of folks’ lists. Today I trimmed & shaped my hair (after getting excellent, precise advice from Claude AI on how to cut it…just sayin’). It was the first time I used the product. It is amazing! It is very lightweight but does what it advertises: Great curls with great styling ability. Plus, the scent is terrific—light but discernible. When I sit on my screened porch, the ceiling fan wafts it all around me. I love this stuff, & will definitely buy it again.

I have fine, thin, permed hair, so this was a little too thick straight out of the bottle. I mixed in some water and it was perfect. I tested it alongside OUAI and JVN curl creams with the same parameters: wet hair, no other products, air dry. While the others came close, this one left my curls shinier and more well defined. It also had better second day results. I got my hair wet again, no wash, and styled without adding any product and it was nearly as good as the first day, even a little softer and bouncier. I also love the scent and the bottle design.

I've tried so many different products, but this is the one that works the best for my hair type. I have more wavy hair that's light and thin. This doesn't make my hair look greasy, like other salon products. There's also a decent, yet soft, hold, to keep the curls for a few days. I'm not the biggest fan of the smell, which to me, smells similar to baby powder, but it's not offensive enough to not use. I originally found this product at a salon, and then I never saw it again. So I'm glad I can order it here.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have started using this in the shower before I get out, and it's definitely gotten me some compliments. My hair looks defined without crunch. One of the few that doesn't have Avacodo Oil (which I'm allergic to).Gave it 4 stars only because it's super expensive. I don't think this will last long. I have 3b shoulder length curls.

This was the first time I bought this to try in place of Deva curl styling cream I’ve been using for 5 years. Amika is great! It has a light smell, doesn’t make your curls, crunchy, oily or heavy and allows your natural curls to have separation & definition. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely LOVE this product for my curls. It's a thick product but you don't need a lot of it. It makes my curls look amazing all day long and holds them all day. This gives your hair a good shine and smells amazing!! I definitely recommend this product for all my curly haired girlies!!! I hope this helps!

My daughter is biracial and has very tight coily hair and this is my favorite product and the only one I use on her hair. No greasiness but I can’t speak if that would be the same for everyone. I’ll post a pic of her natural curls with no product and with the product(hair is wet) when her hair dries it keeps the curls tight without frizz and to loosen the curls I just finger combs through her hair.

I like that this product smells really nice. It is a bit heavily scented, so if you’re sensitive to that, you may want to skip this one. It has nice slip when distributed, and this is helpful if you’re using a curl brush.I dislike the fact that on wash day, this weighed my hair down and made it flat. On day 2, my hair was still really flat at the root. I didn’t even put this on the root, but it does migrate. It was worthless in standing up to humid environment and a little bit of rain. I have somewhat wiry 3a curls for reference. Fine hair strand, but lots of hair, so it’s dense.This also caused me to break out with acne. It’s not worth the money to me.
