came with old v.2.31, dont know it will work in Canada teksavvy... update you after the installation... dont know why still carrying old firmware installation went ok but there is some interrupts with the service.. Don't know the hardware version

Great modem.........expected performance.
Amazon had a fair price on this. Compatible across different service providers. High performance downloads/uploads support....since its a DOCSIS 3.0 compliant. Nicely built when it comes to quality.

Modem comes with an old firmware and there is no way to update it.
Modem comes with an old firmware and there is no way to update it. It causes the modem to drop connection with Internet provider frequently, which makes normal web browsing and video streaming impossible. I had to purchase the same modem from the different local vendor.

2.31 Firmware
The DCM476 model we received contained the 2.31 firmware and not the newer 2.5 firmware. From what I understand the newer firmware improves channel bonding and fixes other issues. Just FYI to potential buyers.

Worth the price.
Are there better cable modems. Yes. However this one is worth the price paid. No problems with the install or use.

Comes with the old 2.31 firmware
I ordered two of these DCM476 cable modems and both contained the 2.31 firmware and not the newer 2.50 firmware.

Great modem that works with Mediacom
I was so happy to find this. After renting a modem from Mediacom, it is great to have one that works and lets me return the rental one.

Wate of money..
Waste of money, it was broken doesnt worked at all... I Got busy didn't get the chance to return, then it was to late to return.
