Easy to read and very portable.
Very helpful, portable map. We went into NYC at the beginning of the Christmas season just for a day. I don't know my way around the city at all so I wanted an easy to follow, portable map we could carry with us. This served the purpose just great. It is not too large so you can easily unfold it and read it as you go along. The print is also large enough that I didn't need to pull out my glasses. We didn't end up using it, but it is also pretty neat that it shows the subway stations so you can figure out your route around town using the subway as well. Very handy. Because it is laminated, it holds up well, even if it gets wet.

Perfect map, although strictly for Manhattan.
Perfect map, although strictly for Manhattan. I used this to navigate so that I did not have to use up my smartphone's battery. The lamination makes it essentially waterproof, and the bold lines make it easily legible. If you are going to go out of the city to the Bronx or Brooklyn, definitely plan on a different mode of navigation, because this may leaves key sections out.The subway map is a good outline, but really and truly for the subway you should download a NYC subway map app on a cell phone. As much as this map tries (it has all the stops), it is not as clear and concise as I needed to truly understand the subway system.Regardless, a great map that I would recommend to anyone travelling to NYC who can read a map.

VERY HELPFUL!
Would have been lost in Manhattan without it! It's laminated so it was easy for us to use a marker and map out the entire route for everything we wanted to see. Useful subway info. It was easy enough to put in our backpack... and was MUCH more helpful than using our phones... seemed to get lost every time we relied on our phones. Worth having with you if you're visiting Manhattan!

This map is the map of Manhattan to buy!!
These maps are good for a few years so I decided to give this brand a try. If you live in NYC and need a guide to the subways, or neighborhoods or places to go/see, etc. or if you intend to visit, this is a must have. It is a street map and has all the neighborhoods noted as well as all the tourist attractions. Want to see Times Square; no problem. It's noted on here along with the subway stops to get you there. And that cover: it is a tribute to the Towers and the artwork is outstanding. Worth every penny!! Love it.By the way, SreetSmart also has maps of the other boroughs in case you're visiting Brooklyn or The Bronx or . . .

Nice planning tool, don't use it on the fly!
Took my kid on a surprise visit to NYC, and gave her this laminated map to get her familiar with the overall lay of the land. The “attractions” list down the right side also was a way to decide which sights she wanted to see. The subway key on the back of one panel is also pretty useful. The fact that it's laminated means I can keep it around for additional visits to NYC.However, I would never carry this around the city and unfurl it like a clueless tourist! It's fairly large when opened up, pretty unwieldy. And Maps apps on smartphones are more sophisticated, giving options for using transit, walking, or driving. We usually planned out our travels using this map back at the hotel, then used our phones if necessary while out.

Serves it's purpose!!
Bought this map for my trip to NYC a few weeks ago. The map is very legible and easy to read. If you need a map that contains all the tourist stuff to do in NYC by this one, you won't regret your purchase.StreetSmart NYC Map by VanDam - City Street Map of Manhattan, New York, in 9/11 National Memorial Edition - Laminated folding pocket size city travel and subway map, 2016 Edition

Great useful map!
We used this map on a recent trip to NYC and it was very helpful! We could read the text easily and since it's laminated, it stayed in tact during the rainstorms we got caught in during the trip. Using phone nav. system in such torrential conditions was too risky - old school was the way to go.
