Biovessel - Eco Living Composter Powered by Food Waste

Expensive But Good Size and Useful
I like this thing. However, I suggest unscrewing the bottom a little bit so that the moisture can drain out. I use a small baking pan to catch the liquid and keep it under the sink. Otherwise it gets too wet and can become rotten and unlivable for the composting worms. Size is perfect, I wanted something small. A little overpriced for what it is. Shouldn’t be over $100 - it’s just plastic with a cork top and a little simple meter that measures acidity and moisture of the soil, you can find that cheap in stores.

Visually Appealing but Cheaply Constructed
Very overpriced for what it is. Product arrived with very limited instructions about how to set up the enclosure or what to feed. Definitely do your own research on this to ensure a successful setup. Aside from price, my main concern is the quality of the enclosure. The cork lid gaps where it meets the body of the enclosure, and I've had 3 worms escape within the first week and crawl all over my countertops. One of the plastic caps also arrived very loose and does not sit well on the cork top.

It’s great
Sleek design, easy to set up and it works beautifully, no worms escape so far and no odor. A bit small for a family of 3 but it DOES reduce our food waste quite a lot.Overall, we're very happy with this product and would highly recommend.

How do you harvest the worm tea?
This seems like a great idea; however, I cannot discover how to harvest the worm tea. I have composted with worms for over 20 years and know these little guys produce (as does any living creature) liquid waste. Usually there is a spigot somewhere on the apparatus but there is not one on this device. One does not want his/her worms to drown!

Defective
Received a defective vessel (the odd shaped plastic part) that didn't line up properly with the lid. It was possible to get it on if you used some force to reshape it but even then it left gaps and looked terrible especially considering the price. Tried to contact the seller, never heard back so attempting a return.

Don't buy if you live in a hot area!!
Pros: Cute design, compact. I was really excited to recycle some food waste in my tiny apartment with no outdoor space.Cons: I've had my Biovessel for two months and have had worms in it for three days. I do my best to keep my Biovessel out of direct sunlight and in the coolest parts of my apartment, but it regularly hits 95ºF here, and it seems the heat (I assume) has warped the lid of my Biovessel so that it no longer fits. I had taped the lid down, but it seems I didn't use enough because another hot day hit, and the lid warped more, and in short, I came home to worms everywhere. If you've ever wondered how far worms can crawl in 12 hours, the answer is at least 11 feet. So now my sleek and beautiful worm farm has tape all around the lid. No more lifting it up to admire my lovely worms for me. Good thing I'm moving to an apartment with more space soon, so I can replace this with a real worm farm. :(But if you live in an area that doesn't get temperatures that high, or if you have a/c on during the day, this product is probably great.
