It is a simple, well-made jeweley box with an design elegant that suits an older teenager/young woman.This is a gift for a hard to please teenager. She looked worried when opening the pretty box it came in thinking it might be another detested gaudy, "girly" present. After opening, she showed it to everyone and used it immediately to organize all her jewelry, her way of saying "I love it". It was big enough to hold all her pieces except for a thick cuff, but it was not so big as to take over her dresser top.The antique, Chinese style padlock that came with it was a hit also, especially as a conversation piece.

It's covered in sparkly glitter! You can't tell from the pictures but this 'black' box is actually covered in bright sparkly glitter, totally ruining any laquer look. Why did they glitter bomb this? It would have looked great without it.

Using this box on my desk for pens, post its, etc. So beautiful. A little sparkle in my workday.
